Pardew spoke of looking to get two more in and specifically said he thought one would come in soon, but the other probably wouldn't be here until after the season started. I think the later one is likely to be Zoggy and we're purposely stalling, trying the drive down the price. If this happens it'll be a deadline day job.

If they've got something of a patchwork team after the departure of Clichy, Nasri and possibly Cesc come the first day I'd fancy our chances. Ben Arfa against their shaky defence should be a good watch.

There's still a big gaping hole up front left from Bent and his goals that Wickham won't be filling for the time being at least. Midfield's probably improved though. Defence I don't really know other than they've lost that Man City lad at RB and are yet to replace him, I think Bardsley's the only fullback they currently have. So basically they've not even done that yet.
