I have to pay membership though don't I? Not worth it for 2-3 games a year.

Well as a midlander I have zero Chance of getting an away ticket. It's annoying, as a kid the only way to affordably see games that weren't home games were the local and Yorkshire based games. Will never be able to go again with my kids or niece/nephew. It's 200 pound at least to a home game for us and so points are hard to come by. Still, someone will always miss out I suppose.

Nah, I'm sure many know what the 11th means. Really? How many young people are growing up knowing half of what went on in the Second World War let alone 100 years ago. Kids I taught barely believed I grew up without a mobile. I know they aren't the majority like but that's the emerging zeitgeist.

They should dig a trench either end of the pitch and pretend it's xmas by having trees for corner flags and fireplaces for goals and whichever team of smelly foreigners can shake hands and join in, with the crowd having no clue of the significance whatsoever.

As much as I agree we should admire our armed forces, I wear the poppy because I have relatives who now lie in sunken merchant vessels in the North Sea sank by U-boats in WW1 in a war they never subscribed to - a conflict forgotten in this whole debacle.
