  1. -1 goal difference 30 games in.
  2. Two soft pens, a keeper mistake, a deflection and another couple of defensive injuries. Great night. Two absolutely turgid sides. I'm fine man. we're numb to this.
  3. This post will backfire like crazy, and I will welcome the abuse but.. I'm a lot more confident in that team now that Rashford is out and Garnacho will play in his natural position. Antony will work like fuck too. 3-1 loss.

I'd have Nunez second personally. Think he's massively underrated and could become scary good.

He's already class IMO. Just doesn't have the wingers with the ability to give him the ball. I think Nunez is a beast as well. I think Nunez and Isak are better all around players than Haaland as well. Might be controversial.
  6. We've had a ton of injuries over the last 18 months as well to be fair. That's not going to get much sympathy on here and rightly so, but you know as well as I do how detrimental that is to a team.
  7. I really don't know how you can say this. Especially given the two fixtures we have this week.
  8. No it's definitely gone now. Not that I think Spurs or Villa are that good, but we're far too inconsistent. We play Chelsea and Liverpool this week and if we won both I wouldn't be surprised. If we lost both 5-0 I wouldn't be surprised.
  9. It's something you keep hearing, but the style of play is clear. We defend on the front foot and our high transitions are one of the best in the league if not the best. Our starting position is the highest in the league just ahead of Arsenal and City. Now, the issue is that the style of play doesn't fucking work with the players we have. A press like the one ETH is trying to implement needs 11 players busting their gut. As soon as you play someone like Rashford, the entire plan falls down like a house of cards. As soon as teams break through the press, we're immediately outnumbered and give away a shit ton of chances. ETH knows this, and continues to play this way. He's openly said in interviews that he doesn't mind giving up so many chances as he believes them to be "low quality chances." What ends up happening is Bruno and Garnacho end up covering twice the distance they should be and end up knackered. Casemiro also doesn't have the legs for this style. He's insisting with it anyway. He might get another summer to buy players to fit into this style a bit better, but at the minute it just doesn't work. The players are doing exactly what Ten Hag wants.
  10. I would have thought it would be a midweek spot in April, unless you know something I don't. Either way, I doubt Martinez will be back this season. If it is played May 14th, you'll have some players back too so it's a moot point. Regardless of all the above, it's anything but a write off.
  11. They were ruled out for a month yesterday.
  12. Martinez and Lindelof just ruled out for a month. It wouldn't be a write off for Gateshead.
  13. It was nothing to do with wanting you relegated. I hope that's not what people believe as it's ludicrous. We're simply run like shit and are notorious for pricing players out of moves before losing them for free shortly after. We're calamitous in the market.
  14. Read The Athletic article I posted. It seems to suggest he's put quite a lot in place at yourselves and that the owners were very happy with him.
  15. What job is that? We're hiring three people at the minute, one of which is a CEO. I would imagine Wilcox will be heavily involved with the academy given his experience at City. You have to understand we've had nobody of any worth in any of these positions for years. John Murtough was our first ever football director and he was a protege of Ed Woodward who is one of the worst things to happen to the club, football wise. Darren Fletcher is a technical director and was wearing a tracksuit at the side of the pitch last season. An overhaul like the one we're currently seeing is badly needed and I doubt Wilcox will be the last hire.
  16. Man United is one big garden of shite that needs weeding. He'll do fine.
  17. Zero chance he plays for us again. The decision will be whether or not to cash in on him. Funny enough the position we're arguably weakest at is Greenwood's position.
  18. Fergie was definitely a "the club comes first" kind of manager. I'd day if he had a cracking player on his hands he'd try to stop things from going public first mind. Once bad news got out then he'd cut ties IMO.
  19. Richard Arnold was bringing him back into the team. 100%. Ten Hag was clearly open to it as well, and has previous supporting Overmars at Ajax. We do ourselves no favours.
  20. Aye perfectly put. Didn't like Ratcliffes comments in that (stupid) interview regarding this. I really hope once he gets the executive structure in place that he isn't in charge of footballing matters and it'll be left up to Berrada/Ashworth etc. The way he was talking was like he was open to bringing him back into the squad never mind extending his contract. We should be cutting ties this summer IMO.
  21. I don't think we are. We've needed players the last couple of January transfer windows and haven't been able to afford them. Bear in mind that the Glazers are paying the Raine group £24.3m for facilitating the SJR deal, and we also owe £10m in professional fees for the same transaction. Losses all over the shop. We're extremely close to the £105m loss threshold for FFP.
  22. https://theathletic.com/5382758/2024/04/02/manchester-united-greenwood-getafe-transfer-contract/ Genuine question that I'm going to stick in here to stop a potentially sour debate raging in other threads, but how would you expect your club to deal with this from now? I know we handled it all terribly in the past, but I mean from this summer onwards. His contract runs out in 2025. We can extend for a year. There seems to be an expectation that we just let it run down and let him go for free. FFP is so important now and Greenwood is a sellable, pure profit asset. If this situation had happened at Newcastle, would you want his contract extended and him to be sold this summer, or just let it expire next summer instead?
  23. It's maybe worth stating that I totally agree with your stance. If the shoe was on the other foot I wouldn't want him released at all, especially to a rival.
  24. A shining reflection on you.
