Barely a word said about the insane feat by Fernandes. 21 assists. He played as a deep midfielder first half of the season. Had no assists in his first 7 games and he also missed 3 games due to injury. So 21 assists in 28 games and he scored 9 as well. From what the guys close to the club are suggesting, it's about £150m on three midfielders (80, 50, 20) but would be happy with two, and a backup at striker, full back, keeper and possibly centre back depending on how long De Ligt will be out for. Rashford, Casemiro, Sancho, Hojlund, Ugarte, Bayindir, Malacia, Zirkzee and Onana all either gone or likely to leave. Maybe £100m or so in transfer fees there and an absolute fuck ton in saved wages.

A lot of the bigger sides use the League Cup to play youth and reserves though and only take it seriously towards the end of the competition. I think the FA Cup is more prestigious and therefore more hotly contested.
