  2. Echoes of Stoke away last season. Natives finally getting restless.
  3. Just because an agent says a player is interested in joining you doesn't mean they are telling the truth They are just using the club to wake up the club's he really wants to join.

Signing a Bayern Munich defender I've not heard of so guessing a reserve.

  6. Mitrovic... https://www.facebook.com/571567546250817/videos/948213011919600/
  7. Anyone called him clueless yet? Bit harsh... He is blind after all.
  8. A photo of Pavel I've got taken at the old training ground in Durham 27-Sep-1994... http://i.imgur.com/fmfw6TB.jpg
  9. Same here, oddly enough. She's never watched a game in her life but always asks "What's Pav up to these days?" every few months due to how nice he was at the training ground on a few occasions in 1994. Always remember I was up in Glasgow to see Supergrass and couldn't make Arsenal away so give my Mam my ticket to go with my dad and brother. She had a season ticket but her interest was waning after KK's departure and Pav losing his place in goal. As it was pre mobile technology info was thin on the ground especially with being in Scotland the same day. Fortunately I caught some team news in a newsagents on their radio and heard there had been an injury in the warm up and Pav was playing. He went on to have a blinder as we hung on for a 0-1 win. Never forget ringing my Mam the next day from Sheffield Leadmill before heading home (I'd travelled straight down to see The Verve the next day from Glasgow to find out the gig was cancelled due to Ashcroft being ill (I think)). What was I saying about mobile technology! Never heard her so happy in my life as I listened to her match report. R.I.P Pavel - Forever a Geordie Just started reading his book in the last hour and he was also Freddy Shepherd's mothers favourite player. "Son, this is the best player at the club. You'd better give him a good contract" The book is good so far. He's already spoke disparagingly about lots of people I hate in the first chapter (Allardyce, Carr, Bramble, Owen, Ian W, Emre etc). http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pavel-Geordie-Srnicek-ebook/dp/B018832VNO Weird that a similar goalkeeping situation happened yesterday and our next game is Arsenal away.

  11. Horrible news. My Mam will be devastated. Her favourite player.
  12. Agree. Fair enough ask the question once but three or four times was poor form.
  13. I'd give up reading it all by then Only seen the game once in full. Really was an awful game.
  14. No mention of goal line technology.
  15. Looks like a documentary then analysis. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10108721/monday-night-football-1966-special-on-sky-sports Shame. Would love them to try and cover up how crap it was after the full 120mins
  16. Are they honestly going to do the full 'Jamie Carragher points obvious stuff out with the help of an oversized touchscreen and some arrows' thing with it? That's what the advert seemed to suggest
  17. Think Dummett style passing out of touch.
  18. I'd be an upgrade on Colback Agree Edit: Agree with the two CM point also.
  19. I don't think he has attacking drive or a good engine on him. He averages 5-6 goals a season playing in teams far better than ours which for an attacking midfielder isn't anything special. I do like certain aspects of his game but just fear he is already in a team better suited to him (possession based as opposed to occasional quick attacking thrusts) Not sure why we see things so differently regarding attacking drive and engine, every time I've watched him he's got the ball and moved it forward. Focal point for driving things onwards. He's mobile and chases things down all game. To say he doesn't have attacking drive or a good engine seems odd to me. He's hardly a huffing and puffing shy player who passes sidewards all game. 5-6 goals per season is fine, he may get more in a different system that takes more chances than sitting on the ball for lengthy spells. I see the purpose of signing him as giving us a reason to change style. We play as we do because we can't control the game from the centre at all, putting Shelvey in there gives us a chance of having someone hold on to it and use it well. Also gives more life to however sits beside him. Do you think he'd come here and be useless and not improve us? If your meaning of attacking drive is he looks to pass forward then fair enough. Mine is someone who carries the ball quickly past players which I don't think he does as he's very one paced. As for engine yes he can last a game but I'd describe having a good engine as someone covering the whole pitch at high speed which I don't think he's ever done. He'd be a small improvement due to our sluggish forward line but for the Fee+Wages and it's true that anyone coming in January has to be costed for with an outgoing then realistically you are looking at losing Sissoko or Perez which I'd prefer we kept.
  20. So Sky are showing the 66 World Cup Final as the MNF game? Should be fun. Was an absolutly woeful game of football.
