Nope. Unless you include Ashley Add ones and then it would have went over £17m eventually. Base fee was lower than Owen’s and Joelinton’s was fishy and an agent involved in more than one deal around then. No wonders HRMC were looking at our books.

I only recall once… Joelinton and I’ve my doubts over the fee being £40m. Almiron was less than Owen. The club lied that it was a record transfer fee to put shade on Rafa.

You’re right in the grander scheme of things but i always feel the two I named revel in it when if they had club interests at heart they’d decide against the odd hand grenade and go with a different approach. He’s quite clearly made that fan quote up for example for his own use.

Yep. I still remember the days when you paid no interest to a teams form until after 6 games and the league table after 10. It’s one game. Chill. We’ve definitely been trying something different this pre season. Speaking of which i think last pre season helped us be ready for the start of the season due to the level of opposition. This summer has been a bit up and down in quality etc and players coming back at different times at different levels so all to be taken into consideration.

No just the transfer window is open and everyone is after CP players. Only natural for him to be busy with DF discussing options and targets.

I could see us looking at Barca players last days of window although not a fan of the concept unless we are 100% on their hunger along with the French league. Any club in a bit distress for a bargain I’d imagine we’ll be sniffing around.

I’ve a feeling the ref blew that quick that it was before ball crossed the line. I reckon he asked them to check the audio to pull him out of his blunder and they confirmed he blew before it went in so he’s double downed on his mistake.

Thought Southampton were good. Definitely their setup give us problems. All over the pitch they seemed that bit sharper. They dealt with the physical presence of Joelinton well also whoever it was they put up against him. Of the three opening games under EH definitely our poorest. Thankfully they pretty much gifted us our only opportunity which we did well to punish. AG not at the races. Body language not the best either but hopefully overthinking it. Didnt understand the red card if the other got a yellow. Either both red. Both yellow. If one is a red then you can’t give a yellow to the other. Just doesn’t make sense. Back four did well and Hall subbed at right time. Quite telling Trippier got no game time though again maybe overthinking. Midfield was poor. Bruno way off the pace. Longstaff similar. Joelinton held us together. Not really the game to judge the forward line. Isak did well for the goal. Wide forwards did very little. Very good three points all things considered.

Good that this fixture is within this transfer window. Depending on the result will aid us on deciding on pushing for 1 or 2 signings you’d think as if we get knocked out we’ve just the league games until next transfer window.

Regarding your doubts on temporary solution I’ve a funny feeling that was what Eales was hinting at when he said he couldn’t say too much but if the fans see what we’ve done with the Stack it would give an indication on our plans. Maybe I’m reading too much into it. Just felt like he was hinting at a temporary ground whilst a new one was built. Also don’t think the Council would object to less traffic in the centre with regards to changing Barrack Road. Anything that helps the Green Zone which it falls into they’ll approve. They might want to get rid of the road completely along with Strawberry Place even and come up with alternative routes for delivery access.

Well obviously 🙄 Just quite striking in the space of a couple of years though. Just shows you shouldn’t just judge teams and managers on what they’ve won.
