Thought Southampton were good. Definitely their setup give us problems. All over the pitch they seemed that bit sharper. They dealt with the physical presence of Joelinton well also whoever it was they put up against him. Of the three opening games under EH definitely our poorest. Thankfully they pretty much gifted us our only opportunity which we did well to punish. AG not at the races. Body language not the best either but hopefully overthinking it. Didnt understand the red card if the other got a yellow. Either both red. Both yellow. If one is a red then you can’t give a yellow to the other. Just doesn’t make sense. Back four did well and Hall subbed at right time. Quite telling Trippier got no game time though again maybe overthinking. Midfield was poor. Bruno way off the pace. Longstaff similar. Joelinton held us together. Not really the game to judge the forward line. Isak did well for the goal. Wide forwards did very little. Very good three points all things considered.

Good that this fixture is within this transfer window. Depending on the result will aid us on deciding on pushing for 1 or 2 signings you’d think as if we get knocked out we’ve just the league games until next transfer window.

Regarding your doubts on temporary solution I’ve a funny feeling that was what Eales was hinting at when he said he couldn’t say too much but if the fans see what we’ve done with the Stack it would give an indication on our plans. Maybe I’m reading too much into it. Just felt like he was hinting at a temporary ground whilst a new one was built. Also don’t think the Council would object to less traffic in the centre with regards to changing Barrack Road. Anything that helps the Green Zone which it falls into they’ll approve. They might want to get rid of the road completely along with Strawberry Place even and come up with alternative routes for delivery access.

Well obviously 🙄 Just quite striking in the space of a couple of years though. Just shows you shouldn’t just judge teams and managers on what they’ve won.

Quite scary to think if Liverpool had won just 4 more games they’d have 2 more UCL’s and 2 more EPL’s in their cabinet. Such fine margins dictate history.

If he carries on playing well they will still get a decent fee for him next summer. Might actually have more clubs bidding for him then. Not saying the same amount but for an extra year’s service they might not be that bothered. They’ll double their money on him still and if Anderson goes this summer and replaced it gives them plenty of time to secure the right replacement.

Logan Costa looks a bit of a beast mind. Not sure how fast he is but seems to have good anticipation and great range of passing. Might be worth a gamble.

It’s a yearly rant so i might as well get it out the way now… All loans, sell-on and buy back clauses along with multi club models should be banned. If you need a player you buy him if you don’t or can’t afford him someone else gets him. This would ripple all the way down the pyramid and leave it a lot less top heavy. I say this even though over the coming decades it’s exactly what we are going to benefit from. Think it’s awful and just getting worse..

Thanks ☺️ So my guesstimate wasn’t too far off. Must admit I struggle to understand it. They seemed to of made it very complicated for the general fan to understand. From what I’ve read there I’m sticking with holding off spending big(ish) on RCB and RW. Id stick with our 4 fit CB’s for 12 months until our other 2 return. Look to shift Miggy for a upgrade RW. If we are in the hunt for 2 trophies and top 4 then maybe gamble on something late January.

Momentum plus some very physically imposing and pacy players. Took their one big chance down their place. Thought Isak’s goal should’ve stood and would’ve maybe changed the momentum and hit their confidence but they were relentless whilst we squandered a couple of half chances. Home game they were in form but were fortunate. Every chance they made they took it felt. After us pulling it back to 4-4 we should’ve done much better with the final 25+mins. They played us both times during our season lull.
