  1. 5th! 65 Points! Above Chelsea never mind bloody Liverpool! Fantastic work by the lads! A season to savor!
  2. Two post-final whistle red cards against us this season. Must be a record!
  3. I don't want them to have a dynasty, but don't mind them shaking things up a bit for the time being. I also think Yaya, Silva, Kompany and Aguero play the game in a much better spirit than the likes of Nani, Young, and RioFerdy.

    Leon Best

I like Besty and am in no rush to see him gone, but if he does go, his goalscoring record puts him more like 5M than 2M. Loads of strikers with worse records have been transferred for more than that.
  5. I'd be delighted with that tbh. Would be another good season with a lot of wins. Yeah, that would be great. Without wanting to sound like Dogleash's excuses at Liverpool, some kind of commercial tie up to bring in revenue would be nice too. We've had a superb, nay incredible, run in the transfer market and getting the wage bill down, but it's unrealistic to keep expecting miracles on the cheap. More commercial revenue would also help build the squad for more European games and ease any pressure to sell the players we have.
  6. As for the match, we battled well but couldn't convert the few chances we produced. That's what you have to do to beat such a strong side. A minor point, but I've never noticed David Silva winning tackles and getting the ball back as much. I think he even took it off Tiote a couple of times.
  7. I read recently that ManYoo won their first title under Ferguson with nine million-pound players. The next closest team had five. Their average first team member cost more than third-placed Norwich's record signing. I distinctly remember Paul Ince, with Gazza the best young English midfielder at the time, join them when they were a mid-table side. Since they struggled to win either cup, you can't say that he went there for medals. I hope the wheels fall off a bit at Citeh like at Chelsea, but don't begrudge them one or two trophies. The big prize in modern football is CL qualification, and the larger the number of teams fighting for it, the easier it is for an outlier to sneak in. If it weren't for Citeh, second in the league would be the team with a new 70,000 seater stadium and one hundred quid cheapest tickets. I don't see any great romance there either.
  8. Ah well. We gave it a good go but they were too good. We got a lot more shots on target than ManUre last week, so just remember that before criticising what happened there today. C'mon Villa!
  9. Six with his left, six with his right, and one header. All from open play (?)
  10. The Guardian's football writing is truly awful. It's taken a pronounced turn for the worse in the past three years or so. The most damning thing you can say about that match report is that it takes time to include this but NO MENTION AT ALL of Cisse's second, the most remarkable strike of the season. I'm writing this five hours after the game ended.

    Papiss Cissé

Sorry if its Giggs, but the first was with his left, the second with his right. Just let that sink in for a second. On current form he's unplayable. We are talking Thierry Henry at his peak level.
  12. I think its fantastic that after bottling a genuine eight-point lead, they are now dependent on us to get a result against Citeh. The mythical "twelve-point lead" we had under Keegan was from us playing two extra games. They've blown it more and later in the season than Keegan ever did.
  13. Ah well, turboshite for 60 minutes, pissed on them for a maybe 10 minute spell, but then took off HBA and effectively gave up. We didn't manage even a half chance without HBA and nearly conceded again. Should wake them up a bit, if nothing else.
  14. Two bad mistakes when Tiote and Cabaye got away with fouls, generally s*** throughout. Alcaraz is a sending off every day of the week. Blatant handball when on a yellow.
  15. Its scant consolation, but there are plenty of goals around the league, so less time for MOTD etc. to dwell on this game.
  16. He just said Cisse's shot that hit the bar was "a yard too high"!
  17. That's easily the worst we've played with that lineup. Credit to Wigan though, they've been great. Lets try and rescue some pride lads. Something to take into the remaining games.
  18. Sliding in two feet up there. We still deserve to be three down, of course.
  19. I'd like Chelsea to win, because we can still get some distance on them by beating them ourselves and Arsenal losing would bring them within range. If Arsenal win, they will be few games left to catch them.
