How long does it take for a manager to imprint his style on a team - my guess would be 6 games minimum - EH I am sure is getting there - he will have seen who works and who doesn't in these 3 games (as someone said Clark should be nowhere near our defence or the Coast of the North East) - my view is yes it is more than likely we get relegated but so what - as a club we are free of the previous cancer and will rebuild strong foundations - there is also the very slight possibility of fluking survival it has been done before - whatever happens it is a blip in the long term plan - nothing to see here and really no reason to despair. Onwards and upwards whether from the Championship or the foot of the Premier league we will rise. -
Apologies - made a right balls up of that - still hope he succeeds in spite of NOT being related to Don Howe.
-
I have a good feeling about this appointment - always had a soft spot for his dad (Don) who was a very able coach - it is in his DNA - so hopefully like father like son and he will go from strength to strength and surprise us all.

For a little more than three years, Yemen has been locked in a seemingly intractable civil war that has killed nearly 10,000 people and pushed millions to the brink of starvation. The conflict has its roots in the Arab Spring of 2011, when an uprising forced the country's long-time authoritarian president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, to hand over power to his deputy, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi. The political transition was supposed to bring stability to Yemen, one of the Middle East's poorest nations, but President Hadi struggled to deal with various problems including militant attacks, corruption, food insecurity, and continuing loyalty of many military officers to Saleh. Fighting began in 2014 when the Houthi Shia Muslim rebel movement took advantage of the new president's weakness and seized control of northern Saada province and neighbouring areas. The Houthis went on to take the capital Sanaa, forcing Mr Hadi into exile abroad. The conflict escalated dramatically in March 2015, when Saudi Arabia and eight other mostly Sunni Arab states - backed by the US, UK, and France - began air strikes against the Houthis, with the declared aim of restoring Mr Hadi's government. This is not NUFC's issue.

The club isn't sold and until it is what is the point of the back an forth - IF it is sold to 80% PIF then put your line in the sand - go or don't go - protest or don't protest - that is our right as UK citizens - at the moment we are tearing into each other over a proposed takeover - we know nothing of their mission statement - it may be refreshing and include aspects of NE regeneration and may perhaps lead to a reduction in their human rights abuses - but atm we simply don't know. What I do know is that the last 13 yrs of Ashley have ground my club into the dust and I no longer care if it wins or loses - the future is uncertain - aye - the prospective owners are associated with a medieval regime but their ownership of NUFC could be a catalyst for change. If not let the protests start.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.

Who gives a flying fuck - Froggy supports his team as we do - its the eponymous 2 bald guys fighting over a comb. -
Not on often - but this interview is being air ed on Sunday - no doubt the media powers have chosen the excerpt to cause max interest - bottom line if Rafa wasn't OK he would say so - then walk - (straw clutching perhaps)

As a dog owner I am disgusted and hope when he drops the soap in the shower Mr Big roots his canal - all mirth aside he is a fucked up numpty. Hope the girl gets the help she needs. Doesn't matter who he played for - he is just an aberration.

That was possibly my highlight from today, a day of many highlights. It was like him quietly walking into a meeting, saying nothing and just hammering his fist into the table. He's told them straight away that he's here and he means business. This - exactly this

overjoyed and elated at this news - Rafa is the real deal not a patsy or bullshitter - it feels nice to be optimistic once again (fickle I know). As people have said it is late in the day but wow - if these players can't motivate themselves for this guy they never will.
-
This club can go fuck itself- I am out
-
Yes he is - remember the fan who had him tattooed on his leg just before he was sold.
-
He has put in print that this is the start - will be easy to discredit if there are no improvements in the next two transfer windows - cautiously optimistic.
-
Looks like SMC is asking for stuff and getting it - good sign imho - Pardew wouldn't have dared
-
Oh yes this is what we need in spades - like the cut of his jib
-
Presumably off Lee "Radar" Ryder - could be anyone then
-
Has years ahead of him to get as f***ing awful as Will-yum-sun - has the physicality and can use both feet - just needs coaching (fingers crossed).
-
Has he gone yet?
-
If Cathro signs - this is definitely a new era - he is hailed as a very very good coach - colour me impressed
-
Now sharing a comfy room room with JC - they get a fresh window to lick each morning

I know forward planning isn't NUFC's forte - but if ( a big if) we were looking for a complete overhaul of playing style and personnel - wingers - talented midfielders - (a defence) with an ability to press and release balls quickly coupled with intelligent attacking play - would it be possible for Bas Dost to be the focal point of our team? I totally agree that in the current set up he would be redundant.

McLaren has the reputation of a thoughtful/good coach but has a bit of a dull personality - will need a strong vibrant assistant who will do his motivational work - if this is to work the 3 wise monkeys need euthanasia. Unlikely I know.
