From what was a paper thin squad - Eddie has worked a magic trick - I think we need a right back young and eager but apart from that I am struggling to see where we need to strengthen - obvs injuries will take us back into the pit but our guys are all performing. Anyone we sign would have to understand they would be on the bench and be slowly brought into the fold. It is a brilliant problem to have. I just love this team.

A very fair point ?

If anything he is more left footed than Miggy - it's a no from me.

OK it is years of MA that have worn me down can't help being dubious - I for one welcome are new CB overlord Sven Botman.
-
This is a photo shop picture and what exactly does in "principle" mean - not wishing to throw shade but I am not getting all giddy until I know he is officially signed.
-
Great post Milanista - all very good points - and I am sure EH will be patient with Sven - he has a track record of easing new signings into the team.

or out of left field we sign up all the talent scouts of Benfica and create our own dynasty of top tier players that we don't have to sell.

Look at it from the other side they will NOT fancy playing us - win, lose or draw I am now so proud of my team it hurts. (In a good way) -
Shouldn't all this be in the The "delighted Ashley has gone, but uncomfortable with Saudi ownership" thread ????? and we can discuss the positives that PIF etc bring to the City and club in this one ?
-
Lol - thanks for asking wife and son have Covid and I am just waiting for some good transfer news - but can't help thinking we are being played like a cheap fiddle. Ah well it will be what it will be I guess.

it is almost like players are being dangled by agents and we are been strung along and then the players are being snatched away at the last moment in order to fuck up our plans to strengthen in the January window - it seems organised to stiff us - tin foil hat on. Keeping with that thought - say the so called top six are in contact with Lille - Seville etc and are promising future deals to keep us out of any deals - in my now paranoid mind this seems likely - i have never seen so many 30 million pound "player accepts personal terms deals" just suddenly fall apart. I am very suspicios and paranoid - lol lol lol - I think I may be right.

We need a CF now - if he gets us points v Watford and or Leeds money well spent - if we lose both - waste of space and cash - let's give him a chance - then speak with the wisdom of hindsight. -
Southampton P-P Newcastle United (02/01/2022)

As has been mentioned I am sure was the Brentford postponement on December 18 met with the same shock and horror as ours? I assume not so why are we being targeted as pantomime villains - totally rhetorical as the answer is obvious - no one cares about Brentford as they are very unlikely to rock the boat - us however may just cause a massive toonarmy (tsunami hee hee) if we stay in the division. -

How long does it take for a manager to imprint his style on a team - my guess would be 6 games minimum - EH I am sure is getting there - he will have seen who works and who doesn't in these 3 games (as someone said Clark should be nowhere near our defence or the Coast of the North East) - my view is yes it is more than likely we get relegated but so what - as a club we are free of the previous cancer and will rebuild strong foundations - there is also the very slight possibility of fluking survival it has been done before - whatever happens it is a blip in the long term plan - nothing to see here and really no reason to despair. Onwards and upwards whether from the Championship or the foot of the Premier league we will rise. -
Apologies - made a right balls up of that - still hope he succeeds in spite of NOT being related to Don Howe.
-
I have a good feeling about this appointment - always had a soft spot for his dad (Don) who was a very able coach - it is in his DNA - so hopefully like father like son and he will go from strength to strength and surprise us all.

For a little more than three years, Yemen has been locked in a seemingly intractable civil war that has killed nearly 10,000 people and pushed millions to the brink of starvation. The conflict has its roots in the Arab Spring of 2011, when an uprising forced the country's long-time authoritarian president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, to hand over power to his deputy, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi. The political transition was supposed to bring stability to Yemen, one of the Middle East's poorest nations, but President Hadi struggled to deal with various problems including militant attacks, corruption, food insecurity, and continuing loyalty of many military officers to Saleh. Fighting began in 2014 when the Houthi Shia Muslim rebel movement took advantage of the new president's weakness and seized control of northern Saada province and neighbouring areas. The Houthis went on to take the capital Sanaa, forcing Mr Hadi into exile abroad. The conflict escalated dramatically in March 2015, when Saudi Arabia and eight other mostly Sunni Arab states - backed by the US, UK, and France - began air strikes against the Houthis, with the declared aim of restoring Mr Hadi's government. This is not NUFC's issue.

The club isn't sold and until it is what is the point of the back an forth - IF it is sold to 80% PIF then put your line in the sand - go or don't go - protest or don't protest - that is our right as UK citizens - at the moment we are tearing into each other over a proposed takeover - we know nothing of their mission statement - it may be refreshing and include aspects of NE regeneration and may perhaps lead to a reduction in their human rights abuses - but atm we simply don't know. What I do know is that the last 13 yrs of Ashley have ground my club into the dust and I no longer care if it wins or loses - the future is uncertain - aye - the prospective owners are associated with a medieval regime but their ownership of NUFC could be a catalyst for change. If not let the protests start.
