    Overrated players

Think it’s one for the unpopular opinion thread. My memories are just that he didn’t do it often enough, and although his game wasn’t defined by the amount goals he scored, he had poor stats post 2000 for the quality of the team he was in.

Also Bergkamp for me. A really good player, obviously scored some world class goals, but was great for a short period in late 90s. Before and after he didn’t reach those levels, yet people talk like he’s an all time Premier League great.
  3. A big thing for me is improving the technical ability within the team without losing our athleticism. These are top priced players admittedly if you go for the finished article. But the likes of Joelinton, Gordon, Elanga struggle with end product an ability to retain possession, particularly against the best sides, as well as not making the most of the positions we get into in the final third. This is really difficult, particularly with the constraints we have mentioned above.

Agree, but if you’re trying to orchestrate 50,000 and it didn’t work last year, just go for the minutes silence.
  5. Always find it amusing when an absolutely shite away end (4,900 of them too) start singing ‘is this the library’ with no hint of irony. Fuck me.
  6. Hate Arteta but really hoping Arsenal can stretch their lead tomorrow.
  7. JD have it in stock online
  8. It's the first line of the longer 'who's that team we call united song'. The longer version is much better IMO but gets sung less and less these days. Brilliant display by Wor Flags. We say it all the time but what a credit they are to our fans base.

    St James' Park

I think a lot of season ticket came to the end of their 10 year deal so some have gone up massively. My old ticket would have nearly doubled in price.

I agree that the club have to look at themselves as part of this. £65 lowest priced ticket will price so many people out. I would hope that increasing supply does allow for cheaper tickets to be made available and that the club will really coin it in from corporates, but nobody knows what will happen.

    Match Atmosphere

I agree, since becoming a member, I've had seats all around the ground and the noise does not travel at all. I was in the Milburn yesterday towards the Gallowgate and the corner was good in parts but that seemed to be about it until the whole ground got going at 2-0. Couldn't hear the level 7 corner or upper Gallowgate. Benfica fans were decent but didn't seem anything special to me, Bradford's away support seemed much better but I was in lower Leazes for that. That said, I was in Level 7 next to away fans for the Milan game somebody mentioned that didn't have a good atmosphere, but it was great up there. Dortmund, I think we can all agree was just terrible all round - up there with one of the most silent I've ever heard at SJP.
  12. 1. Trippier - the player who started our transformation. As a leader he's been incredible and for the first couple of years he was a world class right back. Then he had probably the biggest drop off of any player I've seen for us but glad he's had a revival and played so well in the cup final. 2. Bruno - only just behind. Had faith in the project even though we were rock bottom. As a player, he's been immense and his love and passion for the club will establish him as a legend long after he's retired. 3. Isak - controversial perhaps (and very harsh on Dan Burn) but realising the potential of a player who had lost his way into one of the world's best players is an incredible achievement by Howe. It was a privilege to watch him play for us. It is devastating it had to end so badly but at least we came out of it with £125m.

It was great up there for the AC Milan game a couple of years back. Standing does really make a difference. Milburn Paddock was generally OK, but was close to Gallowgate so good atmosphere from there

    Match Atmosphere

It was great for 25 mins, then up and down from then on. Felt like if we’d have scored first it would have gone mental. It was weird around me in the Milburn paddock, loads of people clapping but hardly anyone singing.

Somebody bookmark this shite, let’s see where we’re at come the end of the season. On a side note, it’s poor from a German football perspective that a former senior player comes out and talks a young talent down like that. No wonder they’re absolutely shite at the moment if that’s how they go on.
  16. They found the skinniest lad in the North East to model these
  17. New track top was delivered today, I love it. Was concerned about the fit but it’s fine, arms are slightly too long but nothing major.
  18. That is the dream! Forget this current range.
  19. Got the track top. Was going to buy the white tshirt with the graphic on the back but the model they used on the club site put me off, it looked shite on the miserable bastard, haha.
  20. The originals stuff was on there last year so I think it will be
  21. Unreal that we live in a world where Osula is worth a quarter of one of the world's best strikers.
  22. I really really hate Chelsea but I’d rather sell Isak for £100m to them than sell to the scousers for £120m.
  23. People were up in arms about Nicholas Jackson (me included), imagine if we get Richarlison instead. His goalscoring record is terrible (about 1 in 4 games at Spurs).
  24. Especially as those who kept going during that time represent 99% of our current season ticket holders.
