  1. Exactly this. Moving left to right, snubbing things out, breaking things up and then giving it with short, simple passes. Through the formation, tactics and coaching he seems to have been coached out of what made him good in the first place to the extent that my heart now sinks when I see him on the team sheet.
  2. Fuck me Rogers does half talk some bollocks doesn't he.
  3. By nice I mean someone who seems to get on well with all the players as opposed to someone like say Souness where factions developed. He seems to do well on that front it's the rest of it which is starting to raise questions.
  4. I have to say while I haven't been in the "Pardew out" camp I really am starting to feel pretty apathetic about things. Call me weak willed or fairweather, whatever it is but my interest really is waning. I've been to more games this season than I have in a long time as I've moved back here to study Physio but the football is rank average, there's too many nonsense quotes coming out of the camp from Pardew and we seem to have totally lost our way under his "leadership" this season. If he is going to stay we really have to see some changes next season in the playing style and approach to games. Whether thats himself taking a long look in the mirror, bringing a new coach or both. The team looks stale at best and desperately in need of some new ideas to breathe life into it. I just get the feeling that while the bloke might be a nice guy and a good man manager he's out of his depth and kind of stumbling from match to match. If there is a player recruitment drive this summer (assuming we stay up) and he goes into next season fully armed the first 10 games will tell us all we need to know and what many think/expect I guess.
  5. Did I honestly hear him talk about the state of the pitch in his bbc interview? Dear oh dear
  6. A bad result tomorrow and he'll really start to feel the pressure. There better be a distinctly different, sharper approach tomorrow.
  7. If West Ham can put Wigan away on Saturday....and QPR put Stoke away
  8. Have to get Cabaye involved further down the pitch and try and get some decent crosses in for Cisse (god imagine that ) The longer we p*ss out in this skid mark of a season the more the pressure we'll heap on ourselves going into the last couple of games and god forbid we get ourselves into a situation like that. If the manager and players pull their fingers out on saturday we could finally put this utter s*** of a season to bed.
  9. Would it amaze you if the change ('it's been difficult to adjust') is a problem? I don't know what to think anymore really, I'm certainly not expecting sudden free flowing expansive football Pardew looks pretty lost to me so on balance no I'm probably not expecting much. I suppose I'm interested to hear what he says if its still utter dogshit. I think there's enough quality in the side to atleast pull out enough in the remaining games to secure safety irrespective of the way he sets us up.
  10. The remaining 5 games are all a week apart, no excuse for using "fatigue" as an excuse for performances. All teams have a degree of tiredness come the end of the season, it's all relative. The burdon of europe is gone now, lets see what's turned out in these last 5 games
  11. Jesus 3 draws would probably keep us up
  12. Nah the team sheet will be fine, they won't play anything like they should do though Alright, this will be at full time. http://gifsforum.com/images/gif/cry/grand/dawson_cry_gif.gif And this will be the Pardew thread: http://i.minus.com/iRt7X0lbIV0HI.gif Cheers mate that's absolutely made my day, fucking class
  13. Coloccini is a big factor if we can get him back on the pitch starting this weekend. Much more likely to turn defeats into draws with him in the side, especially away games.
  14. Exactly, if yesterday can't provoke a reaction with some guilt edged performances over the last 5 games we might as well pack up and go home. Aye, if we fail to get points out of Liverpool and Arsenal at least we can rest easy, safe in the knowledge our scintillating away form will see us through.
  15. Exactly, if yesterday can't provoke a reaction with some guilt edged performances over the last 5 games we might as well pack up and go home.
  16. Spot on. That midfield "showing" yesterday was one of the most embarrassing things I've seen for years given the magnitude of the game (from both Tiote and Cabaye I mean)
  17. I think there's enough games left where the other teams down around us will take points off each other that will allow us to scrape home. But if we can't pick up say 4 points from the remaining 5 games and results go against us then we deserve to go down really. Embarrassing and shameful situation developing.
  18. Dunno why the idiot doesn't go back to 4-3-3, the only real time we played some decent stuff. Ben Arfa right, just need someone to play left like Ba did, which i think Sissoko or Gouff could do. You then have Marv, Cabaye, Tiote, Perch, Jonas for the 3 places in the middle. Exactly, its bollocks and doesn't make sense. The time we played our "best" football was with a 4-3-3 so why the f*** not go back to it. He seems to plough on with things even if its plainly obvious to everyone that it doesn't work. The midfield just simply doesn't impose itself in games. You've got Cabaye sitting too deep and a suspect Tiote doing well.....not very much at the moment because even he seems to be playing himself out of what he does best at the request of the manager. Why are we seeing Tiote bringing the ball forward and Cabaye hovering around in front of the back four ffs? The way he sets us up for games and the shape of the team is non-existent. Nobody really looks like they know what they're supposed to be doing and that seems to be leading to this static, rubbish play where people are standing around when there's no movement. I think the 3-0 flattered them a bit today to be honest but they came here with a plan and gubbed us well and proper.....made us look like proper mugs, players, fans and most of all the manager. Even at 70 mins before Johnson scored we were in the game but apart from the disallowed goal I don't remember us testing Mingolet that much 2nd half. I seem to have taken the defeat pretty well so far.....more like a grim acceptance of the reality of our side/manager at the moment or more an apathetic acceptance. Someone made the point in this thread that a result like this has been coming and if its the rocket up the arse the players need or the slow wheel of change starting to move then I guess that;s the only slim positive that can be taken. Pardew looks lost for ideas and like a rabbit in headlights. The bizarre thing is, the way we set up, Tiote/Cabaye wth Sissoko in front of them. The 3 of them are always so far apart it's mental. Pardew is just a crap manager with zero tactical idea, it really is that simple. My Chelse mate sent me a text before the match as he was watching before heading to Wembley. He said "you should murder them with that side on the pitch"....followed by "what the fuck was all that about, they wanted it more?"

  20. That 4-2-3-1 formation is a load of bollocks and seems to have been adapted by a lot of managers because it's something of a "gimmick"this season and last. Just like when people were trying that awful 3-5-2 carry on. Only the top teams can pull off the 4-2-3-1, we certainly can't with the players we have ffs and it's been plainly obvious for ages.
  21. As good as it was, the way we let Johnson cut in for that strike ffs. Dear oh dear. I think Brummie summed it up on here nicely in that they weren't that good today but they were far better than us and just wanted it more.
  22. Clueless today really and just comes out with the same sound bytes after defeats. Today just showed what a limited manager he is. The team is crying out for some better coaching from a new coach (if he is to stay) but that won't happen. Just can't see Ashley getting rid of him though. Maybe if its the same old story 10 games in next season (assuming we're in the prem league)
  23. Fuck knows, after today I've given up predicting anything
  24. We really should be able to have that midfield against Larsson and N'daye
