Indeed, Hall, Tino and Trippier are all better LBs. It would take all of them being injured for him to play there for me
-
As much as he lacks in recovery pace he makes up for with those daddy long legs. It’s insane how far ahead a player can be of him and his sliding tackle can take the ball away still. Timing those challenges when he’s behind the player is remarkable, he’ll know every time that if he gets it wrong it’s likely a red or a pen depending on where he is on the pitch

I’d like to see Bruno chokeslam Arteta into the dirt then stand over him and go “eees a deesgrace”

I loved Perch, proper cult fan of his during his time here
-
He’s an odd player, I’ll give him that. He’s actually a very decent crosser of the ball and he made some very good decisions today. I don’t always think he makes good decisions though. He’s improved a huge amount under Howe and still seems to be growing in confidence. Can’t fault his desire, do find him frustrating in a number of ways fairly often but maybe being a backup option is his future here and one where he’ll continue to be valuable

My categorisation of world class is pretty much: Can win games almost on their own multiple times a season Is one of the best in their position in the world (clearly) Has a consistency that means they rarely drop a long way below their ceiling Id say he ticks the first one, I think he can tick the second. I think he ticks the third one

This is the perfect summary. Was a frankly absurd performance in every single way
-
Thought he was absolutely class, lovely ability on the ball in most areas, long and short passing, receiving under pressure, fairly good at carrying as well
-
Plays left back as well eh? Hopefully we’ll soon have a squad where every player can fill in at LB
-
PAS? A disguised dig at ASM, the grumblers will love it

0-3 win. Hall to get a goal

The Magnum group

Newcastle players are mercurial French flair players, that’s the strongest consistent type of player we’ve seen over three decades
-
I quite like him as well but I think we’re going to see a rattier version next season. Spurs are still in the middle of a rebuild. They’re the most at risk from the richest six of getting pushed out and if they start next season poorly it’ll fall apart before Christmas I think

One of the greatest moments in NUFC history. Fuck the trophies, Colo tried to murder a child

Elite shithousery from Olympiakos does the trick

Olympiakos’ arse is falling out here
-
I imagine this has been commented on already but why are Villa and Olymp wearing dark coloured tops with some similar shading

Stupid Spursy idiots. The honeymoon is well and truly over

The next piece in the puzzle. I love Pope and will be happy with him for a long time to come if his shoulder is ok but a keeper who can actually play with a football would transform us
-
Can we get James in here to tell us that he’s put out a hit on Tonali due to the lack of an apology. Need to balance the good news a bit in here

I think it’s fairly clear to see that Rat’s approach is “you pay for it, I’ll ruffle some feathers”. The Glazers aren’t going to be investing huge money into the club and id be very surprised if Rat does long-term either. The project is enormous to turn around as it’s been left to fall apart for over a decade

The difficult thing is they’re very different players and offer completely different strengths to the team: Trippier - defensively very solid positionally, remarkably good in the air considering his height, our main route for building attacks from defence, takes all set pieces and creates most chances from crosses Tino - fantastic ball carrier, good recovery pace, good in the air, very solid positionally. Won’t create a lot of chances from crosses but is an amazing attacking outlet
