When we finally get some success, e.g. getting into Europe, winning a trophy, I’d love to see a thread dissecting all our transfer windows since the Keegan years and rating them. Obviously a window doesn’t mean much without context as you could sign no one and it could be an ok window or a disastrous window but we could contextualise the summer window by putting in where we finished the season before and January window by where we are in the league at the end of the window

Bizarre bunch, I don’t know of a club in England that’s had more decisions go for them than Man U. The media is normally queueing up with bottles of lube and they’re not exactly free flowing, Rashford has scored a bunch of outstanding individual goals and Bruno’s chipped in too. They’re a good side that are very solid and so are we. It really just depends on how well we’re both set up on the day and whether we or they take their chances
-
You can say that there’s a lot of pressure on us because of how long we’ve waited for a trophy but I feel like even though the League Cup itself doesn’t mean a huge amount to Man U, us becoming a serious threat puts pressure on the tie for them. If we win, it transforms the mentality of the club and fast tracks us even quicker to success which I’m sure Man U would be desperate to slow down for as long as possible

Zaire-Emery, 16 years old and scores to seal it for PSG. When I was 16 I was working on my Gran Turismo International A Licence and collecting some legendary Pokémon

He’s absolutely hilarious like, complete wild card

Don’t really mind like, Howe deserves all the plaudits. Sure, Bruce was appalling but there are a lot of poor managers out there. If we’d gone with 90% of candidates we’d probably have got relegated and if we went with any other candidate than Howe we wouldn’t be anywhere near a final and a potential champions league spot. Let them praise the miracle worker

Maybe they’re talking in a very literal sense, e.g. they’ve got to spend 8 and a half years of wages on many of their new signings. Clown time round there to be honest, you can’t just have players on enormous wages clogging up your books. Players like Ziyech, Gallagher, Sterling etc will all see their valuation drop as they won’t be playing and they’ll be on high wages. Will be difficult to shift some of these players. Todd might think he’s being clever as fuck but if Chelsea don’t get into Europe or the champions league it’s going to fucking hilarious

I actually quite like them in all honesty, especially now they’re happy to take players off our hands

Are Forest some kind of contemporary art project or a comedy troupe? I love their loose cannon approach to signing dross and past-it players
-
Have it a six, don’t think it was a bad window by any means but we haven’t signed anyone proven and our midfield is potentially weaker. Long-term it could be a really good window but short-term it might not help enormously for the rest of the season. I do love the outgoings though, was way way better than I’d expected

Another 3 points here i think. Yet to see them play a single good game of football all season, doesn’t strike me as a game where they’ll change that. Keep Bowen quiet, which I think we will with our defence and Jow and we’ll be at them for most of the game. Another goal for Longstaff please and one for Willock too

There’s absolutely zero chance an appeal would be successful. Just suck it up and use it as an opportunity to get other people some minutes. They’ll be playing out of their skins to prove themselves
-
You can see how much the club has changed in moments like last night. We’ve gone from chasing Jonas out of the club when he has cancer to giving people respectful send offs where they get to decide to leave on their terms. We’ve got a lot of class about us these days and it’s really nice to feel the club is treating people with respect
-
That’s the kind of insight we need if we want to finish top four, hope he managed to get the message across to Howe
-
He did get absolutely laced in the head around the temple, wouldn’t be that surprised if he was ruled out because of the protocol. Hope not but at least it’s putting the players’ well-being first
-
Those finishes were typical of how Lampard would charge into the box. Not expecting a goal return on any scale similar to lampard but even if Sean chipped in with 8-10 goals in a season it would be massive for us
-
He always has some really nice touches every game. You can see how much confidence he has with his pace to best people on the wing now and he’s improving with his passing. I feel like he’s getting closer all the time to being a really good player. The only thing is whether he can stay focused and on it for the whole match game after game, he’s probably one of the less consistent members of the team
-
I thought he was slightly sharper yesterday, not necessarily in gaining space or getting a shot off as he was wasteful there but at least physically he managed to do a bit more hold up play
-
Shit, must be serious, didn’t even realise he was unwell. Hopefully he can make a recovery. Wonder how it will affect Spurs
-
Couldn’t even get Fraser over the line. You can bet Dyche is raging right now. What a shitshow. If I was an Everton fan I’d be feeling like we did under Ashley
-
Sure I’d love our first trophy that we win to the champions league but I’m not going to turn my nose up to a league cup. It’s amazing that we’re in a final for the first time in 24 years, let’s enjoy it and enjoy the fact we have a team that can genuinely go into any match with the expectation of winning it
-
Great work Boehly, hope he loves losing money
-
Was extremely classy tonight, he’s our most reliable outfield player aside from Schär and Botman
-
Thought he was just going to let the game play on until they scored, didn’t seem arsed about keeping everyone for an extra three minutes
