  1. I’d rather take the beauty from the situation than take the pain
  2. Amazing pace, looks extremely one-footed based off those clips but not necessarily a major issue for his position

  4. Aye, we’ll see what happens there. No news for a few years then it’ll get deposited into the Charity for Yacht Redevelopment, owned by Mr. R.A.
  5. I agree, the current situation is massively flawed and it has done the opposite of what was intended. However, I don’t think letting clubs spend whatever they want is a perfect solution either if the owners don’t have to deal with the risk by offloading it onto the club and siphoning cash off
  6. I get your point that big money has brought with it some amazing teams and eras, and that in theory clubs being able to spend what they want can level the playing field. However it creates a broken system where clubs are in huge amounts of debt and their owners (Abramovich aside due to sanctions) won’t sell unless they get a profit and the new owner takes on the debt. The bigger and bigger you stack that system the more likely it’ll come crashing down and clubs will go out of business when they aren’t getting bankrolled anymore. We’re entering a period of big inflation so clubs with large debts are going to be even more screwed. That’s fine as long as an owner doesn’t mind major losses but we know that the vast majority are in it for money
  7. El Hadji Diouf is such a good shout
  8. Next time they’re going to try and make it stick. Hopefully if we establish ourselves as a top 4-6 team we tell them to fuck off if they try to drum up interest
  9. Personally really like ASM and hope we can get the best out of him as he has a lot of talent. We’ll find out next season whether he can make a step forward with his game in decision making and better final ball passing. I also loved Robert, HBA and Ginola. I just didn’t love Sissoko and I don’t consider him to be similar to any of the other players mentioned as he couldn’t dribble the ball effectively, he couldn’t hold onto the ball well under pressure and he didn’t have great end product

  11. Possibly the thing that gives me the most confidence in him as a manager is how quickly he found out which players needed to be sidelined. He made all the right choices and even though myself and others were thinking Manquillo was the right call over Krafth, he proved us wrong with that as well. A combo of getting 100% out of every player on the pitch coupled with the right calls on who to sideline shows how gifted this guy is, and that’s before we touch on other things like creating unity in the squad, keeping players onside who aren’t getting game time, setting us up to play attractive football. We’re lucky to have him
  12. Ziyech is class, don’t know much about him from a character perspective but technically he’s excellent. Don’t know if we could tempt him here but hopefully we’re exploring it
  13. Couldn’t believe the transfer fee we got from Spurs, all thanks to the international tournament that summer
  14. Can only really talk about him based on his time here as I didn’t watch him closely at Spurs. The few times I did see him for Spurs, he seemed one of their weaker players. Maybe @leffe186 can let us know what the consensus of opinion from Spurs fans was on Sissoko there
  15. Sissoko was definitely not class for us. He was a committed player who did a lot of running and helped link defence and attack but technically he was massively lacking
  16. He’s probably been looking at the stats of all the wingers in the PL to see how he compares and he’s picked on one who’s had a poor season like a bully. Wanker
  17. This Sean lad a lying little prick?
  18. Hmm, I guess I was going for, Tottenham are a success and can maintain top four football if they keep Kane, Son and Conte. If even one of those goes I think top 4 is in doubt. I get what you mean that any team losing one of their best players makes a big difference but I think the other top 4-6 sides aren’t so heavily weighted towards a handful of players. My wider point though was that Man U don’t even have players who come close to being able to transform them into a genuine top 4 team either as a baseline across the squad or in having 2-3 amazing players that can drag them over the line so they’ve got an enormous rebuild job
  19. Spurs are an interesting one though, don’t you think Leffe? I don’t watch a huge amount of your games but if Conte goes or Kane or Son then things look massively different for you again, right? I would say that Man U don’t even have that sort of spine of two amazing players who can dig them out. I think they need major changes in a lot of positions and they need to get at least three world class players who can perform quickly to get them up in the CL spots. If things don’t change for them quickly it could get really nasty there

    Joelinton

Can't wait to see this beautiful man back for us next season
  21. Finalised a shortlist for all the positions but I still think things can change as the window goes on, depending on what movement happens elsewhere
  22. Him saying it was one of the biggest achievements of his career is an example of how he’s learned from one of the best managers in the business, Steve Bruce. The key is to make your audience believe you’re fighting against every adversity but you’ll continue scrapping because you love the club too much
  23. I reckon Howe is having an honest discussion with him about the fact he could conceivably sign for us but not be a starter because of how he wants to set the team up. If he isn’t signed up soon then I don’t think we’ll sign him at all which would be absurd on one hand but also make a bit of sense on another. His application and defensive talent is fantastic but if Howe wants to set the team up in a different way then I could understand it. Would be such a massive shame for Targett and the fans though
  24. Be very surprised if he gets many minutes next season. I’d expect us to sign two strikers in this window, one a development prospect and one established. That would put Wood between third and fourth choice depending on how the new players fare. Would probably be best for us both if we parted ways
  25. Lampard absolutely committed to continuing the Everton way, hope they get him. They can have Ashley Barnes as well
