Ban is really harsh, standing up for the club more than anything else. Won't go down well with supporters but will work as a deterrent

That post from another board (pine barrens') is eloquent but biased. There is a good point in it though, I do think there is a level of hatred stemming from the mackems which is absurdly over-the-top and they fuel the aggressive side more than we do simply because they hate us whereas we dislike/are bemused by them. You do worry that one day some young chav will do something stupid but I think it could happen on either side, kids can be idiots and do things just to show off. Wish there wasn't a thuggish element to the rivalry at all but it would take both sets of fans to back off and stop baiting each other at all which will never happen. See you next season Sunderland where I hope we win and I hope just as much that both sets of fans don't lose their heads.
  4. Was my favorite player in the league for a while.his touch and dribbling is dead.he used to have the most accurate shot in the league, now he can't hit the ball goalwards,is a real shame for him and the league but fuck chelsea

    Football pet hates

Dislike weak commentators like most on lots and Jim beglin now on itv who instead of saying 'that's a foul' say things like 'is that a foul there?look, his hands are all over him,is that a foul, for me there's something in that'.Just say it's a foul if it's a foul, say it's not if not and say it's impossible to say if it's impossible

Can you give me the french article link for this? If it's audio, please send me that as well thanks in advance The France Football website only has a teaser for the print interview at the moment, not sure if it will go online later. ahh, cheers man. you know you're going to get a far better interview out of hatem than most because he's a nutcase. can't wait for him to nail the last few games of the season. Just makes me genuinely sad to think he's had to wait so long

    Alan Pardew

Don't bother. He's got nowt to contribute to the forum other than to say everyone is a computer game playing child/arsehole. Not a clue why he still comes on. No worries man, I don't mind debating with people who have a completely different opinion but it gets pointless when they stop talking about football

I've never played champ man, football manager or any of those games even once in my life.don't know what it was I said that made you think that but you're wrong.I guess you think we're maximizing our players at the moment and playing to their strengths?not trying to come across like a dick but we're obviously coming fon two totally different places

    Alan Pardew

We really do man, you've just been convinced we can't by Pardew's style of football. If you don't think that Santon, Jonas, Cisse, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa or Ba are capable of keeping the ball down and moving around defences then you're wrong. Cisse has pace, Ba has great movement and can turn a man exceptionally well. Ben Arfa can walk through people and create space for himself no problems at all and Santon can get in behind teams no problem. If we didn't break so incredibly slowly and were willing to commit more men forward at times instead of slowly creating a very ordered line of attack, then passing it back along the half way line from one touchline to the next, then pushing on, we'd be able to get behind defences instead of letting them get organised. We are far too defensively disciplined when on the break

There's something in this, position does make you greedy and objectively it would look ridiculous to almost all fans of other teams to see people in here saying they're not happy but that's what being a fan of your own club is about: Inspecting and analysing everything minutely and I think the scrutiny is worthy and has been for a while. You're right about us being greedy for good football but this team can play so much better than it has, confidence will help us but so will positive tactics and Pardew telling his players to go out there and really go hard at the opposition rather than waiting for counters, moving the ball slowly up the field and hoping that we can ping in an ok cross. We have the speed, skill and ball-players to move it around, get in behind people and really hurt defences.
  16. Gianni and flavio are a couple of pathetic creatures.what an embarrassment for football this is,that people this awful make the big decisions.

    Alan Pardew

One thing I will say about right now though is I like the stability we have,we are not a joke for once and things have gone well for a while.success is almost always allied with long termism and I am terrified of the prospect of Mike Ashley ever making another managerial appointment

    Alan Pardew

HTT is talking a lot of sense.don't know what your wpm is HTT but it must be pretty high.pardew has gone from a very convincing start for me to an unconvincing last three months.the signs were there even when we did amazingly well at the start of the season but now the results are matching performances.let's see him change his ways in the last 11 games and we can evaluate at the end of te season but if nothing changes I will not expect much next season
  19. Really difficult to say as there's nothing to back it up but I really think he deserves more minutes.he's great with the ball at his feet,is fast, surprisingly strong but I can't say much About his position play yet.I would like him to be getting thirty mins a game, ahead of everyone from the bench but guthrie

Personally would have loved to have seen this at some point, maybe a cup game but it's not quite right for Arsenal: Santon Williamson Colo Ferguson Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Jonas Cisse Ba I do believe we need Santon, Ben Arfa, Cisse and Ba on the pitch together. Ryan Taylor should not be keeping any of them out of the team
  21. I think if they get 7 mil for him they will take it. Add another 7 mil and you can buy a decent player. We ought to have a horrible summer selling him will be one of the reasons for it. 7 mill and take it? Are you taking the piss? The only way we would, would be if there was a definite release clause and we'd have no choice. No way are we selling Ba for 7 mill unless we have to. no one knows the exact details of the release clause but let's just say that it's all been a fabrication (why I don't believe it has), we wouldn't sell him for less than £16 mill

    Shola Ameobi

Yeah, mostly this. But let people enjoy him for Sunday and let him go back to being a villain whenever he puts in his awful performances. don't think anyone's calling for him to included much more
  23. Even Simpson? My body seizes up whenever Simpson receives the ball and it dawns on me that he plans to 'cross' it. I'd prefer it if he didn't dash my almost non-existent hopes and just side-footed it out to touch
