  1. I can see what you're saying Ian, he's obviously a self-obsessed attention seeker with the stability of a bucking bronco, we've all known that for some time but it seems to be part of the bigger problem which has unearthed itself over the past month. The unrest in the camp is palpable even if it is only caused by Jose, Barton and Routledge, I stress even, and things aren't going to settle down until Jose and Barton go. This means losing two of our best players for relatively low fees as they're in their last year here. I just don't see us replacing them with anyone that comes close. It just feels like another implosion is brewing when a month back with Cabaye arriving, that day when we woke up shocked to find out Marveaux had signed, we all thought things were turning around. There was a proper sense of optimism then and now it's fading fast
  2. This shit is so tiresome, all we're asking for is a bit of stability but everyone at every level whether it's Lambarse, Ashley, player unrest, contrives on an almost daily basis to unhinge everything. We're always in a state of perpetual collapse, it's a fucking joke, so sick of it. Was feeling positive about the season ahead but all this shit behind the scenes is making it crash down around us
  3. Absolutely no chance of us getting relegated, if we manage to get Tiote, Colo, Arfa and Marveaux on in several matches together, we'll clean up against half the wank in the league. We've got quality just not in abundance. I'd like to see Abeid, Vuckic, Tav and Ferguson come through for the first team, they've got speed, hunger, good ball control and are evidently far better than the likes of Raylor, Smith, Loven and a couple of others who manage to sneak into our lineup all too often. If only Pards would tell Shola and Loven to fuck off I'd rest a lot easier about the upcoming season. I'm feeling positive, these friendlies are pointless, I just hope the lads are up for it from the whistle against Arsenal

    U23s & Academy

Cheers for the update Tax, you got any more info?
  5. Lovenkrands is my second least favourite current NUFC player after Smith. At least with Perch we barely have to see the lad, Lovenkrands is always around spraying shit all over the pitch
  6. It's two minutes in but we look absolutely appalling
  7. The only things of interest in this game for me are how Tav and Gosling play, getting a chance to look at Abeid for the first time and I would like to see Best have a good game as I think he's been hard done by, if he gets shafted out of the club at the expense of lovenkrands and Ameobi it's a complete joke.

    U23s & Academy

I would read anything and everything posted on Reserves/Academy that you put together or anyone else did that was going to see a lot of the games. One of the most exciting parts of football is trying to spot talent coming through and the hope that comes with it. If we're ever going to become a serious football club again that finishes consistently in the top 6 I think youth developments will have loads to do with it. Cheers anyway for making the effort in the past
  9. Love this lad, if he comes through as a decent player for us he'll definitely become a favourite
  10. Excellent avatar Semtex, new season looks like it's going to be absolute quality.

    Keegan Talk In

I'm happy to join the HTT love-in. Keegan's not just a football icon for me but a role model in principles. Love the guy
  12. "Is that actually how often I spray my crosses wide?"
  13. Don't post any more iain nicholson's. All his tweets have complete conviction when they're a load of shit. He said we'd definitely signed Gervinho and that we were in for Kranjcar. He's a useless twat

    Chris Hughton

Top man, hope he is a success. Football needs more people like him
  15. Can you? I obviously need to get to Specsavers. The guy struggles with intonation but from everything he's said about his time as NUFC manager; thinking through tactics and formations every hour of the day, not being able to sleep, how all his mates think he's mad to want to be a manager after such a successful career as a player, you can see or at least I can see, he wants it. Shearer, the player, did everything he could to maximise his game, all parts of his game were strong. You don't get that without a great mentality, it wasn't just talent, it was massive hard work. He'll bring that as a manager and instil it in his players, I honestly believe if he rides out the start he can make it as a manager. We'll see...
  16. If they start rocky and by Christmas are struggling around the bottom half of the championship I can see him getting the sack and never managing again. However, if he can get through a full season with them, I think he's got a chance. You can see how passionate he is about it, how much he wants to prove himself, I honestly think he's got it in him to be a good manager but he just needs to get through the first season respectfully. I would take no pleasure at all in seeing him struggle and would love for him to succeed.
  17. Sorry, I never get to speak French anymore or write it so thought it would be an opportunity to see what I remembered. I'll stick to English. G
  18. Il est calme, c'est ca? Il joue sans distractions? Il a toujours quelques secondes pour trouver la meilleure passe?
  19. I'm sorry, it was unnecessarily inflammatory but the happy birthday sing song made me nauseous even on reflection and it's the self-pity rather than anger which riles me. Excuse my vitriol, obviously it's silly to generalise
  20. The club's a joke. All that saccharine bullshit, singing happy birthday to King C**ty, crying their eyes out and wallowing because a useless prat gets sacked. Take a step back man, it's football. Everyone gets emotional about football at some points but going on about a manager getting sacked like you've lost someone from your family is an embarrassment. Dickheads
  21. Keegan is the main reason I love football, everything about this man is spot on; his principles, the way he gets teams playing but more than anything else, his honesty which comes before anything else. Keegan just doesn't seem to be able to lie, either to himself or the fans. I, like many others, still think he could manage at the highest level and be a great success but it's whether his terms will be met and that's not something I can see happening. Whenever I listen to any footage of him or Bobby it always hits me emotionally because you couldn't find two people who care more about the others around them. I'll always trust what Keegan has to say over almost anyone else because of his conviction and I hope that in spite of his evident bitterness he is able to look at Newcastle United and still feel like it's a part of himself. One final note. These days I find that almost anyone I talk to thinks of Keegan as a joker who didn't know how to manage a team tactically and was a quitter but while I think he walked too easily at times, few people credit him like he deserves. If you want to discredit his performances at club level by telling me he had more investment than most managers then that's a completely invalid argument because most managers wouldn't be able to get a chairman to back them like he did. It's not just about the fact he was one of the most positive, heartfelt guys around, it was the fact that he injected that into everyone he met in the same way Bobby did. There's so few managers who can pull that off and I don't see where the next one's coming from for NUFC ...
