Wouldn’t say he’s necessarily a significantly better player, but he’s more established, has played well for multiple seasons and in the PL. I think both Diaby and Isak still have a lot of room to grow and may have higher ceilings but I don’t think they’re quite at Maddison’s level of consistency yet

You’ve got a Ronaldo situation to sort out, De Jong clearly isn’t keen to join. You’ve not strengthened up top where you’re weakest. You sound pretty confident for a team that most people have said need major changes

Thing is, Trippier is one of the best dead ball players in the league. I’m not sure Ward-Prowse is dynamic enough apart from his amazing dead ball ability. I’d not be in for him

Three of my major non-NUFC hopes this season are that Chelsea underperform, Man U underperform and Everton get relegated. All three clubs’ transfer business is interesting. Everton are probably weaker currently than last season after losing Richarlison. Man U have had a terrible window so far. Chelsea have spent a decent amount so far and seem desperate to do a lot more business but I think they could well underperform

Do agents work as part of larger agencies rather than independently? If so, maybe there are French agents working at the same agency that got wind of info and shared it?
