Doubt Harry will actually think that far. And we ourselves will be hit by significant player departures should we go down.

n I'd punch him even if I'd be accused of being a horse puncher.
  3. Another Chopra? He tried to get a penalty against us and a man sent off ffs! Exactly. He lost a lot of Geordie love that day.

Those games this Saturday... It's gonna be excruciating nervy score updates every few minutes while watching our match.

  6. I'll be tempted to play whoever has shown the most desire to win, regardless of reputation or actual ability. We can't afford passengers in the remaining games as we did against Liverpool. At this stage in the season it is more often than not the team wanting it more getting the points. If certain players don't want to put a shift in or are anti-Pardew enough not to bother on the pitch, I rather those who give a damn being selected. Don't sulk, get us to safety, then we can talk about a new manager after it all.

Hughton wasn't the one to play Raylor at LB and Pardew was the one who got Saylor to the best form we've seen him in his career. He has no problem when it comes to building a team that relies on solidity at the back first and foremost, winning matches through moments of individual brilliance. First concede no goals, then get the ball to the front player(s) asap to do the damage. It all unraveled when he has to implement a more expansive style of play. He just couldn't find the balance between defence and proper attacking build-up, especially in a 4-3-3 formation that is as alien as Obertan's head. Coupled with the new lads struggling to bed in , communication issues (a big part in any defence) and a drop in confidence, the back 4 couldn't function as effectively as an unit this season. At this stage where the pressure is all on us to get a minimum 3 points from the games left, having a nervous Elliot and Colo only just coming back, it is a big 'if' whether we can get any resemblance of a unit to pull us over the line.

I'll be amazed if they win the appeal.

What a result to wake up to. Villa's GD somehow managed to go beyond us in a matter of 3 days. Hope results somehow contrive to send them down.

  11. Indicative of how low we've fallen when that is a criterion for our next manager.

We need a proper coaching staff with a modern outlook. Thing is we have no idea how modern their outlook is or not. Pardew is the main man and they contribute, he then takes it on board or not. My point would be that i would prefer two Geordies to take us for the last three games than Pardew. Steve Stone 'Run faster, jump higher'. Exactly what we need to do in the next games. No joke. Freed up from Pardew, them and the players would react imo. Just an opinion. Definitely. The players need to regain some confidence, not be scared stiff of the opponents and immobilised by the fear of failure. We just need a temporary boost in morale for 1 or 2 games, something I can't trust Pardew to do.

  14. 24 people just died in Sunderland.
  15. Taking 8th as par, we are currently at 16th. That's some £6m+ in league positions. Enough to cover a PL-standard manager's wages for 2, 3 years not to mention a good manager will get even higher than 8th. Ashley needs to see the light.

Can tell from your avatar. Wonder what bimpy has to say to that.
  17. We should have been safe and watching the match popcorn in hand. Yet now this is a crucial game for us whichever way it pans out.

I don't think he will be sacked now but I hold onto the hope that he will be let go once we are safe or when the season ends. Can't see Ashley's business philosophy change by rewarding failure at all, especially after a huge investment in January. Meanwhile, I pray for 'moments of magic' in the 3 remaining games to carry us over the line.
  19. What was the multiple-season ST deal like, and how was the take up rate? Can't imagine Ashley being too worried if he already has the matchday revenue tied up for the next few seasons.

    Alan Pardew

I can. At the moment Pardew is not a neutral presence, he's having a visbly negative effect. Sacking him might give the players the uplift required to get us out of the s***. We are heading one way. That 6-0 was as clear an indication as anyone could possibly want that he's lost the dressing room. The only uplift in morale we can get from Pardew staying is him offering to resign once we are safe. That won't happen though.

I would love it if he is indeed stupid enough to issue a 'back me or sack me' ultimatum to Ashley.
