I think if we stay up and actually kick on a bit to the dizzy heights of mid-table mediocrity. Then I’ll eventually start to miss the derby. Obviously, playing them became a chore under the previous clowns and losing 6 on the bounce was a disgrace. But when we never compete for cups and eventually end up being safe. I’d go the other way. I think he is improving as a defender, despite still being a bit ropey. He infuriates me going forward. As he gets in some decent positions and his pace is a great weapon in our slow team. But he always wastes it. Drifts offside, has a shit touch, puts in a crap cross etc. So annoying. I like him, though. His speed is a joke.

Diame must have hooked him up with Victor Conte. Looked really sharp, a yard quicker and was smashing into challenges all over the pitch. Pure class.

Diame MOTM. Massive turnaround from him. He looks sharper, fitter and seems to have found a yard of pace from somewhere. Fair fucking play to Big Mo. Kenedy looks exciting and what we have been lacking. Can take a set piece and looks like he can actually play as a winger, unlike Atsu and Ritchie. Who seem to be going backwards. We look really shaky at the back all of a sudden. Seem a bit one paced, bar Yedlin and none of them can play football. So the ball gets treated like a bomb. Really odd feeling. As part of me is hopeful based on 70 minutes or so. Kenedy looks like he could be an important player and you’d like to think Slimani (if he signs) would be chipping in with goals if we keep playing like this. But it is yet another game we have chucked points away against a shit side. Still can’t win at home and unable to beat teams in the top half. Had a chance to put a mini gap between the bottom three. But couldn’t hang on against an awful attacking unit.

Not his fault he is leading the line for us, when he barely looks good enough to play for our stiffs. But the fact a well paid pro footballer can’t seem to hit a ball properly and shits himself whenever he gets near the goal, is just unforgivable. Should not play for us unless it’s as a last resort.
