What on earth is going on in here?!

Disagree. I thought they were conservative by their standards on the night. Because Pep knew how we wanted to play. We were not in the groove like we are now and we don’t have the players capable of pulling off a passing game/high press against a team like City. Or the style of play of an Arsenal to go toe to toe with them. We will in time. But I think it’s too early to say we should be going away to City and going more gung ho. I think they would have battered us if we were open.

Arteta really needs to stop wearing Ryderwear leggings. Honestly, man. Must have to get greases up to get them strides on.
-
I think he was at fault to a point. Along with Lascelles and I guess Miggy/whoever should be passing on the runner. But people are ignoring the fact that without the miscontrol. Pope hasn’t actually done that badly and gets away with it. Percentages and fine margins and all that shite. I do agree with others that he looks low on confidence. And this is coming from his number one fenland fan.
-
The whole ‘letter of the law’ and the use of VAR gets worse by the week. Escapes the first one. Then a nailed on yellow for the second foul and gets away with it. Shouldn’t be on the pitch. Disgraceful from the officials.
-
Would have taken a point before the game. At half time I 100% would have. But it’s annoying to chuck it away at the end there. Some twisty, entitled cunts on here mind.
-
It was shit from him for the goal. But fuck me. Lascelles and the total lack of tracking the run are just as bad. Just wank all round.
-
Shocking all round for the goal. Nobody tracks the run, Lascelles pushes up into no man’s land and then Pope comes rushing out, as is his style. But had no business doing so. Still, Emerson got lucky with the mis-control.

I’m not having Spurs at all. Bar the second half v Arsenal. I just never see them and think they look really impressive. I know they had a half against 11 today, but still. They keep winning and they’re top of the league, so what do I know I do like Ange, and all. Seems a decent fella.

Great news. He is our best player and makes us tick. Wishful thinking, perhaps. But I hope he retires here.

Could not disagree more. Early days for him here. But in the games he has played. Tonali has looked more at home and comfortable in that 8, charge around like a mad man in Howe’s system role. But not particularly composed on the ball. He was awful against City playing deeper, for example. His touch and awareness was miles off. All of the scouting videos, clips and analysis from his Milan days. Suggested he was going to be a Longstaff ‘upgrade’ or one of the two 8’s in Howe’s midfield. It’s a testament to Longstaff that he is still so important and this is not meant as a slight on him. He has rightfully kept his place since coming back from injury. I genuinely think that Bruno makes football look so easy. That some fans, not necessarily yourself, don’t realise just how fucking good he is. He has set the bar so high that he’s made a rod for his own back. He is held to some ridiculously high standards, where a 7/10 gets labelled a shit performance. He’s the only player in our squad that will demand the ball, back to goal in his own half, whilst under pressure by two players. Apart from his tame shooting and occasionally over playing. There isn’t really a weakness in his game and can play anywhere in midfield. Skillful, gets stuck in, can pick a pass that most others don’t see, dictates the tempo, a powerful runner with the ball, despite not being the biggest, covers shit loads of ground. I could go on. I think we have at best, a handful of elite world level players in the squad and he is right at the top of the pile. There are not many players in world football like him.

I love it. I fucking love it Can’t beat a bit of early 90’s dance music.
-
Three of those midfield options are absolutely rancid. Henderson has semi-retired, Phillips barely plays and has been shit when he has, Gallagher has been poor since his Palace loan. Jobs for the boys.
-
Finally got a chance with Rodri out and loafed about the pitch like a pissed up pensioner. Get him in the England squad.
-
I don’t really agree. As plenty of ex-pros come across as absolute idiots and offer no insight. Or they’re basically just a shock jock type that says stupid shit for a reaction. Or they’re a personality vacuum. Oh or all of the above. I don’t necessarily have a problem with women pundits per se. Say it all the time when this debate comes up, but Emma Hayes is brilliant when she gets on ITV and Sky Sports have a northern female co commentator who is decent. But it’s more the quality of analyst the channels have in general. It will never be accepted by the wider public. But I would rather listen to a decent journo or analyst, statto type from online channels than a lot of these gravy train, jobs for boys wankers. I quite like the BT Champions League goals show for this reason. Even if they do all look permanently impressed with themselves and like they enjoy the smell of their own farts.

I still think it’s Bruno. I think you could get away with a midfield three of Joelinton, Bruno and Tonali/Anderson a lot of the time. Whereas our build up play and passing without Bruno would be shite and since he became a starter. It has been whenever he’s not played.
-
Yeah. It did look like he tried to potato punch the PSG player Absolute lunatic.
-
Nice to see from a man that always seems so grumpy. I've been enjoying his villainous laugh since the takeover. Us being decent has turned him into a big softie.
-
His performances haven't really dropped below an 8 or 9 the whole time he's been here. Bar the odd tough start to games or an occasional tough half, he has been near flawless. His touch is just automatic and I don't notice how good it is quite as often, now I'm used to it. But there was one last night where I'm convinced plenty of decent players would have mis-controlled it or even let it under their foot out for a throw. He just killed it on the half volley, in stride and with enough speed that he could just carry on pushing forward on the attack.
-
100% this. I was sat with two neutrals last night. Who were both commenting how bad he looked early doors. I was also having flashbacks to Milan and some of his worse performances this season and worrying. Near the end of the game. They both said how good he looked and it is certainly becoming a recurring theme. He's a big lad. Just takes a long while to get fully warmed up.
-
Didn't he have the worst running stats in that front three of Messi, Neymar and him and there were clips of him not even attempting to get into attacking positions. As he was in a strop because Messi got the pass instead of him. Yet their fans booed Neymar and Messi for the perceived lack of effort, whilst giving him a free pass. Amazing talent. But it is a joke the power he has there and the way he has conducted himself, I think.
-
Did he get up and then go and smash into someone else, just after the whistle went? Absolute beast of a man. Showed a nice change of gear to get back for the Dembele chance. Knocks him off balance at the last second.

Best game for us. Better and more important for us last night than Villa. As strange as that is to say after having a hand in two goals that day. He seemed far tidier on the ball than his last few games, he was probably our best midfielder off the ball in the hour or so he was on and he looked fast last night, I thought? I mean he's hardly road runner, but when he's chasing back or bombing forward. He looks noticeably quicker than our other CM options. Bar Willock, of course.
