Well funnily enough. When you are looking straight at the linesman from your angle and he doesn’t put his flag up. You can celebrate in basically a split second. I have gone early plenty of times with that. But used to always do a quick glance and get even happier when you’d see them fucking off back towards the halfway It’s not like I’m stood there not cheering. I just always feel like even in the moment. There is a chance it will be disallowed. Especially if there was a tight looking offside call or some contentious incident in the build up. I also said I got caught up in the moment and went coco bananas when Anderson scored. But aye, ignore those bits. Keep waffling on. I don’t celebrate goals at all

I didn’t fully celebrate either goal on Sunday. As thought Isak might have got pinged for his slight push (was up the other end) and thought Almiron was offside. Had a feeling there was an offside in the build up. Or that they were going to get Isak for handball. But don’t think VAR can go back for that unless it is the player scoring. But unlike last week. Went absolutely mental when Anderson scored. Absolute shit that every goal now you are always waiting for that fucking screen to pop up.

About 10:50 I spotted myself jumping on someone, then getting jumped on, then falling over

Small time cunts. TBF, a good few of their fans calling them out for it.

He seemed to be involved with or created 5-6 chances. Shifts the ball a lot quicker than any of our wide men. It’s either out his feet and whip it in. Or he cuts in and looks for the square pass and he’s off again. Some turnaround. Gone from being a bit of a joke to one of our better performers the last month or so. Just from a few cameos and a couple of starts.

Murphy and Anderson. Chiselled motherfuckers.

Fucking hell. Nearly died in the scrums for the disallowed goal and the pen. Got me self on TV Murphy MOTM. Isak ice cold. Schar solid, bar his sloppy punts up to nobody. Anderson was superb. Much better out wide. Bruno back to something like his best, I thought. Botman had his worst game for us. But it didn’t matter.

Yeah Guehi is quality and still really young. Andersen may have dropped off a bit of late? Not seen as many rave reviews or noticed him as much when I've seen them. But I think he may have missed a few games through injury. Eze and Olise are strange ones. As it feels like they flatter to deceive. Top quality on the ball, skillful, direct, can spot a pass. Yet I always think they should be offering more. Might be the ultra-negative system they have been playing in, mind.

Leaving about 2’ish for this. Not too far from me. Couple of hours, I reckon. Still no idea where we’re drinking or parking. Will have a look en route. What we thinking? Unchanged from Wolves?
-
Yeah, that was shocking. They were much worse after Collins came on and all.

Depending on the result and performance tomorrow. The international break might be coming at a bad time for us, momentum wise. However, I think it is obvious the likes of Bruno and Joelinton have been playing through niggles. Howe keeps referencing that we are nursing injuries week to week. Wilson looks absolutely fucked, certain players a bit jaded, Gordon is out for a bit, Willock just back from a minor injury, Targett working his way back after a long time out etc etc. I did say something similar for the World Cup break and I was totally wrong. But considering we won't lose a whole heap of players. I feel like it might be exactly what we need to get players refreshed for the run in.

Just to chime in on Gallowgate Shots. It is definitely the best one out there. Most enjoyable NUFC pod to listen to. But by God, they don’t have get bogged down and stuck on one point without moving on. It was half an hour on ASM the other week. It was about 20 minutes on the Pope penalty incident this week. Gets pretty tiresome when they just repeat the same point over and over again.

Followed. Big horse racing fan and the Racing Creeps account is gold/scary as fuck. Feel this will be even worse

You do wonder how much pundits and so called experts actually watch teams regularly outside of the Sky 6. It is the same for fans. Outside of highlights and the odd game where they might be on Sky or BT. How much of say, James Ward Prowse, for example. Do people see outside of his worldy free kicks? Schar has been our best defender this season. 100%.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

I mean, I’d be absolutely buzzing if we signed him. But with the system we play and his injury problems this season. I think signing a proper DM would improve us just as much. -
I wonder if some of the players have been encouraged to come out of their shells a bit more, or something? Both Willock and Isak looked fired up and aggressive, were shouting to teammates and speaking with the ref during the game. Both pumped the crowd up at different times. Willock with his strangely effective baseball slide type tackle Either that or they are pissed off for missing games. Not sure what it is, but they’re usually two of the quieter, more reserved types. Whatever it is. I’m all for it. As both were fucking class yesterday.

Sat below the Wolves fans. They were well below average for away fans, I thought. Long spells of not hearing a peep out of them. Got loud start of the game and after they scored. That was it.
-
He is still held to ridiculous standards and despised by plenty of our fans. Heard all of these around me yesterday. “Waste of skin.” ”Fucking shite. Useless.” ”Get him off and sold. He’s shit.” [Nope].
-
Aye. Thought he’d be getting more love. MOTM, for me. Only thing he did wrong was lose it once overplaying on the halfway line. Flawless other than that. Regularly gets left on an island, with Trippier so far advanced. But he always manages to win the ball and cover. He was playing agains numerous fast and direct attacking players and handled them well. Plus he easily won his battle with Jimenez. Three and a half million pounds

I feel like I say it every week. It still feels like he is caught between trying to be a Howe player and playing his usual game. It results in him being even more indecisive than usual at times. At other times, him rushing the pass or shot. First half, on the whole. I thought he was great. Really dangerous on the ball at times and was finding Isak, Willock and Burn in space. Second half, it was easy to see why Howe is obviously unsure on him. In a 2-3 minutes spell. He lost the ball being a twat in a tight area when it was never on. Then didn’t track back. Then when he got back, he was miles out of position when Semedo overlapped and he just watched him. I think he was then heavily involved losing the ball edge of our box. That ended in a dangerous free kick for them. A bit like Isak. It looks like he is told he will get around an hour, he can’t do 90 yet. So he blows his load early and then really drops off. Despite what I hear a lot of people saying and what should be the case. I’m of the opinion he is better when he starts and a bit of a crap option off the bench.

4 points from these two games would have been acceptable. So a draw here isn’t a disaster. I think we should be aiming and hoping for more, mind. Everton went there just the other week and went into the lead twice. They can certainly got at. Just worry a bit about Gibbs-White and Johnson on the counter. A similar front 3 to yesterday. With Willock tearing about again and I think we cause them big problems going forward.
-
Agree with this. Looks a touch off it and not as sharp or mobile as usual. Think he missed his fellow blonde Brazilian and all. It is pretty big for us that we can have probably our best two players having below average games, in Trippier and Bruno. Yet still score 2 and win. Didn’t realise it was him with the header that hit the bar! Only seen it back once briefly. Has to be scoring there?!
-
Probably hyperbole and it feels like he is getting it from all angles of late. But I thought to put it politely. He was underwhelming. To put it bluntly, he was shite and lazy. He’s just come on after being dropped. He’s the number 9 here who has led the line well here for years, always led the press from the front under Howe and harried defenders all game. You think he’d have a point to prove and he’d be fired up and angry. But I thought he looked uninterested, slow/not fully fit and I might just be imagining things now. But I also thought he looked a bit heavier than usual and not in a good way! I hope he does actually have a niggling injury or a genuine reason for his performances. As the drop off in quality and how his physical attributes have disappeared is massively alarming.

Another clumsy as fuck moment from him. But you can count on one hand the number of big mistakes he has made this season. Had another ropey one second half. But he also made some top saves. FWIW, Jimenez is an idiot for the pen shout. Touch inside away from Pope and it’s a pen and probably a red, or an open goal. Takes a shit touch that is probably going off, then jumps into him. Keepers are just a different breed when playing out from the back. Ramsdale got caught a couple of times earlier. Alisson had a howler against Madrid. I’m sure there are loads of examples. I still feel more confident with Pope between the sticks than probably any other keeper in my lifetime.
