I can accept that we'll probably get beaten by Man City. I can accept that this will cause endless hilarity and cries of 'the wheels have come off!!!!' among the unwashed. I can accept the inevitable patronising pats on the head that will come our way from the media. The one thing I cannot accept and that will piss me off is this git getting it right and inevitably being a total cock about it.

I'm not going to address the rest of your post (hey, it's late ) but i've heard the emirates and a few others mentioned many times both on and off the forum relating to this debate but to my mind those stadia have no relevance at all. Those are brand new arenas and hence they have no history behind them. Their relevance to St James' Park is zero as they were, on the whole, not named anything else before they were named as they are now or they were initially named for a corporate sponsor and have since switched to another different corporate sponsor. Had Arsenal decided to rename Highbury then i'm sure there would have been the same sense of outrage from their fans. Similarly the scousers or the fake mancs would go beserk should Trampfield or Old Trafford be renamed. Those fans would be outraged at the besmirchment of their history and tradition even with the extra funds that the desecration would bring, a consolation we inevitably find ourselves without.

Those signs he put up likely cost fuck all to a company the size of NUFC. A few thousand for the signs and another couple of thousand for the labour. Probably less than 10% of Smith's wage for one week per sign.

Almost sure that Dalglish has some input in transfers too. I imagine Kenny has to approve suggestions by Commoli before anything happens. So it's quite annoying that Liverpool fans are quick to blame Commoli for any sort of flops even though Dalglish should probably share some of the blame like. My brother (who is a liverpool fan) pointed out this week that since kenny was appointed their squad is much less cosmopolitan with Glen Johnson being their only black first team player. I've heard a few stories about dogleash and tbh, i'm not too surprised.

No, what we need to do is sell a player for 35 million.... Oh. Howay man, that barely covers agents fees and bore hole expenses Seriously though, if Ashley came out and said his Christmas surprise for us was that the Carroll money had been saved up to expand St James he'd be a very popular man again.

Regarding Gyan and Campbell, nice.

I'm assuming that is tongue in cheek and it's actually pretty funny. The writer does a good job exposing what bollocks stats are.

Should have chucked a crusty roll at him to see if he'd catch it.

What's genuinely impressed me is the change I see in some of our players. When Raylor was initially selected as left back I, along with many others, thought it would be a complete disaster but he has proven himself there and improved measurably on his previous performances for the club (in any position). Jonas has become a real threat, Guthrie looks good, Best is starting to look like a quality footballer. Even Saylor has seemed to be cutting out some of the errors and failings that he previously had.

Might be good to get another agent in there. 'Yes, Mr Short, i'm positive Kluivert is still a top class player even at 17 stone. £150k a week is a bargain for him, trust me'

Belief, organisation, preparation and quality in key positions.

Nice mag hunt starts on page 2 here and goes on for a good 6-7 pages before, rather unsurprisingly, there's an offer to meet and 'sort it out in person' http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=638853&page=2

As far as Cabaye and Tiote go, I wouldn't say either of them 'went missing' yesterday. The problem comes when, like the QPR game (I think), the opposition put an extra man in midfield and the two of them struggle to find space and time on the ball and find themselves doing a lot of chasing off it. It's not a coincidence that when Ben Arfa came on at half time Cabaye in particular was more visible as an attacking threat and the replacement of Obertan with Marveaux saw a marked improvement in midfield. Marveaux was more willing to tuck in and help out in the centre when needed whereas Obertan plays more as a proper winger keeping his boots on the touchline. I thought this evened things up in the centre compared to the first half when our two CMs, although putting in a great shift, were struggling to impose themselves and influence the game against greater numbers. It should be noted, though, that while Obertan didn't have the best of games going forward he did seem to be chasing back and performing his defensive duties much better than he has in previous games.

I've noticed that too, they do seem to be building up a bit of an understanding and Jonas has been more free to roam forward recently.

I think i've worked out why they have so many threads on their forum. The search function requires you to answer a question to prevent bots going through it such as: I would think less than 5% of their users could get those questions right. If they made them a bit easier like making every answer 'Fuck off' or 'Mag' or possibly just programmed it to accept random threats of violence as a correct answer it might go some way to tidying up the forum.
