It would be best at this stage if Pardew was to come out and say something along these lines, "Yes, there is a clause in Demba's contract, but we are not concerned by it. Demba will be a Newcastle player come February". Simple. Even if it turns to be a lie it muddies the water enough. Reading the FA rules regarding this posted a few pages ago it seems the club aren't allowed to reveal any details unless they have the written consent of the player though.

I suppose it could also depend on who PSG sign in January. If they get a couple of decent strikers in then it wouldn't be very likely they'd take him in the summer (I hope).

He is frustrating. Has good feet for a big man and does some lovely stuff at times, but he drops deep and drifts out wide quite a lot (tactical?!) and shows little inclination or desire to bust his balls and get into the box. This. He never seems like an out and out striker or target man to me, he just doesn't spend enough time getting into goalscoring positions. You look at proper strikers like Shearer or (dare I say it) Phillips and they're busting a gut to get into the box and get on the end of something every chance they get. Bendtner just doesn't seem to do that.

Sorry, but that's rubbish. Well, I don't know, i'm just guessing based on the usual employment stuff. I know they can't disclose wages or bonuses without a players consent just the same as my company can't disclose my earnings or bonuses without my consent.

Even if there was no clause i'm fairly sure the club wouldn't be allowed to talk about in on privacy grounds. They can't just go disclosing private details about a player's contract same as any other company.

£27m for Bent Liverpool seem to be doing things the exact opposite way to us. We're looking for bargains, value for money and slighlty hidden gems whereas they're just spunking absolute fortunes on every english flavour of the month player without any thought as to how they'll knit with the team philosophy and squad.
