That might be the case but to my mind that's levelling our youngsters down. They have a choice of joining a team where they likely won't get the competitive football they need but top class facilities and training or joining a team where they'll get the game time but with a much lower standard of coaches and facilities. Both these options will limit a players development so the choice is essentially damage limitation. B teams would allow young players to get the best of both worlds raising both the overall standard of the league and of our national team.

Don't underestimate the fee for a decent borehole these days. Sovereign states are snapping up the best boreholes for huge fees and we just can't compete with that. I'm 99% sure we'll get at least one borehole over the line though and dekka is wanking in his office, sorry, working very hard to make it happen.

Or they are just allowed to begin discussing personal terms, a la Neil Taylor... We don't know what the clause is in any detail or how much is needed to trigger it. It would be best at this stage if Pardew was to come out and say something along these lines, "Yes, there is a clause in Demba's contract, but we are not concerned by it. Demba will be a Newcastle player come February". Simple. Even if it turns to be a lie it muddies the water enough. Reading the FA rules regarding this posted a few pages ago it seems the club aren't allowed to reveal any details unless they have the written consent of the player though.
