Shola and Sammy blatantly locked that kid in a cupboard though Nice to see the club doing things like this and most of the players look like they genuinely enjoy doing it too.

Newcastle United Vs Swansea - 17/12/11 - Pre Match Thread

Obertan is going to play every bloody game he's fit for isn't he? -
I'm going to Knock out the first person who attempts a stupid pun with his name. This is silly. Let's Knock it on the head before it starts. Nah,lets all knock one out instead. Those are three bad puns. Don't Knock it unless you have something to contribute yourself.

If we sell another player for big money and he flops we're gonna get a reputation like dodgy used car salesmen.
-
The fact that we're doing so well this season won't help us keep him either. FMA knows he has to at least keep the club in the premier league to make any money out of it and with our points haul already he's likely to think we'll easily do enough to survive without Tiote for the rest of the season.

Is the commentary for this on BBC radio newcastle only or do any of the commercial stations have it on?

Its things like this that make me hate football.

Andy Carroll He's not worth £1m
-
Our frenchies would like that shirt anyway

I'm just looking forward to the weekend, all this happiness and optimism is taking the hilarity out of rtg. They're still mongs but happy mongs aren't nearly as entertaining, they're not even offering each other out at the moment ffs.

All this seems to depend on Chelsea almost demanding that Liverpool sign Carroll. Chelsea had to pay £50m for him anyway, if they wanted him that badly and the Carroll deal had fallen through would they really have said 'No, deals off, we're only buying him if you sign the big geordie lad'? Liverpool could have got £50m out of them whatever happened, they decided to spend it on Carroll. Lol.

Fuck it, let's just get 16 players together and we'll draw positions out of a hat.
-
Maybe looking back but thinking about it, Andy Carroll worth as much as Aguero? More than David Silva? Andy Carroll? Seems ridiculous now.

Get a collection together to buy the naming rights and call it St James' Perch for a season.

Well, at least they're not getting carried away http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=649062

Fabio Capello, George Graham(!), Sven, pretty much every manager from any club anywhere ever is getting a shout.
-
Any word on the payoff? Would be nice if he rinsed them for a few million

-----------------------Krul Simpson ---- Taylor ---- Colo ---- Santon Tiote Cabaye --------------------Jonas HBA Best ------- Ba That would be interesting with Cabaye and Jonas tucked in as wide midfielders and Santon and Simpson charging up the wings.

Hang on, i've heard of blokes 'being' mascots and i've heard of blokes being 'in mascots costumes' but never a bloke being 'in' a mascot. It sounds like bizarre porn.

'And then I woke up and there was just blood everywhere.....'

You guys are gonna feel pretty bad if it turns out he has some weird disease that turns his skin black and white in perfect stripes.

I can accept that we'll probably get beaten by Man City. I can accept that this will cause endless hilarity and cries of 'the wheels have come off!!!!' among the unwashed. I can accept the inevitable patronising pats on the head that will come our way from the media. The one thing I cannot accept and that will piss me off is this git getting it right and inevitably being a total cock about it.

I'm not going to address the rest of your post (hey, it's late ) but i've heard the emirates and a few others mentioned many times both on and off the forum relating to this debate but to my mind those stadia have no relevance at all. Those are brand new arenas and hence they have no history behind them. Their relevance to St James' Park is zero as they were, on the whole, not named anything else before they were named as they are now or they were initially named for a corporate sponsor and have since switched to another different corporate sponsor. Had Arsenal decided to rename Highbury then i'm sure there would have been the same sense of outrage from their fans. Similarly the scousers or the fake mancs would go beserk should Trampfield or Old Trafford be renamed. Those fans would be outraged at the besmirchment of their history and tradition even with the extra funds that the desecration would bring, a consolation we inevitably find ourselves without.
