  1. I’ve gone the opposite. If I take Antonio out he’s definitely scoring past us so I’m keeping him in to jinx him ?
  2. I was expecting that’s what we’d hear if we heard anything. I said on a few occasions there’s no way the PL would budge I genuinely feel sorry for the fans who convinced themselves it was still happening It sort of was though wasn’t it? Privately at least, the bid was re-submitted, pif was involved again. Now unless they’re prepared to go to arbitration that would take an incredible amount of time (no information suggests this is likely) it’s flat dead on its arse. It’s absolutely gutting. They can appeal, which is heard as soon as possible. There is nothing to suggest they’re going to though? Unless I’m missing something. Who says they won’t? People have been adamant they walked away in July, they didn’t (well, not for long). PIF are in as long as Staveley has confidence the deal can be done, they’ll only walk away if she does. She is still committed to the deal and will take it to appeal. If it’s rejected on appeal it will be interesting, at that stage MA could take legal action but I have doubts the consortium would hang around that long. I expect it to be approved on appeal. I honestly wish I had your optimism, I hope you’re right.

  5. Is anyone else struggling to read all this stuff without a heavy wave of sheer disappointment taking over? Despite the absolute lies I told myself about being finished if the takeover didn’t happen I’d just about moved passed it. You start to look at the new season thinking well maybe if we stay up their might be another bid, I’ll try to be less emotionally involved this year blah blah. All the shite you tell yourself because you’re a mug. Now this has been brought up with a new level of rejection it’s absolutely gutting all over again.
  6. Is this really as simple as keeping BeIN happy? Is that their reason for stopping this at the heart of it. Can it even cost them if they’re tied into a deal? I really don’t want it jump on the whole corruption thing without evidence but this does feel like a different set of rules has been applied to this and I realty don’t get why.
  7. The PL claimed they were offered it during the process IIRC. Yea ? I meant since the statement yesterday. There’s no info to suggest the parties are going to pursue arbitration. There’s hints to suggest Ashley will seek damages but that’s it.
  8. I wonder to what extent going against club policy in signing Wilson - and the rest of this weeks transfer dealings for that matter, was based on Ashley thinking privately he wouldn’t be the owner soon. I bet he’s absolutely fuming.
  9. a few legal people on twitter seemed to think it’s both possible and likely but that’s the extend of my knowledge despite having a law degree ? It’s also absolutely painful to think on as of yesterday all parties thought it was going to be given the go ahead again and it’s been rejected. Twice we’ve been close to having a football club again and it’s been taken away from us. It’s crippling.
  10. Again, this is how I see it. It’s done for us. Ashley will try to get some money out of it. There was nothing to suggest anyone would be appealing the decision. I can’t see how people are still hopeful. For whatever the reason, the premier league really didn’t want this to happen.
  11. So after the fallout from the last time they’ve resubmitted the deal and it’s gone to shit again!? Great.
  12. I’m assuming any court action won’t be to force the sale though. It seems dead now. In some ways I’m pleased there’s a full stop to it. In another I’m absolutely gutted all over again.
  13. I guess this has been what’s going on behind the scenes maybe? It’s definitely over now then.
  14. Think I’d go: Darlow Manquillo Fernandez Lascelles Lewis Shelvey Hayden Murphy Almiron ASM Wilson West Ham have been just as bad as us and are equally in turmoil. I wouldn’t be surprised if we won this one actually. 2-0 ASM Wilson
  15. Watkins over Wilson seems like a good move to me

    Joelinton

There’s is absolutely no way the club are prepared to lose a £40m investment for what would be a significantly reduced fee. He’s has a bad season, he’s young. People are too quick to write players off. I’m still in the camp that he’ll come good in the right circumstances.
  17. Seem to have a bit of a Sissoko type situation going there where the Watford fans seem pleased he’s going for the money the got. Consensus seems to be he’s a lazy bastard.

Was it him? I thought he was out of the team by the time we signed him. Before that I think it might have been Owen ?
  19. Yeap, it's certainly the most interesting signing considering our shambles in signing full backs. Same. It’s a position we’ve needed strengthen for years too.
  20. I think he’s got a point. When you’re not getting picked at left back over a right footed centre back there’s obviously an issue. I thought it was quite clever how they showed that clip of him questioning the tactics, I’m assuming small conversations happen like this all the time but they only showed him doing it. It was the same with Erikson, loads of footage of him walking a round with his head up his arse all to make Spurs look good for letting him go. It’s been by far the best football documentary so far though. Aside from that Will Grigg episode none of the others have come close.
  21. Wasn’t really that bothered about this signing or the Fraser one yet signing both of them is quite interesting. It’ll be intriguing to see if they can get a connection going again.
  22. On that point I wonder what scuppered his Arsenal, Spurs moves etc. He was heavily linked with those types of clubs January onwards.
