Honestly I think he’s been one of the worst signings over the past 10 years or so. Signed on a free but on reportedly high wages. He’s offered almost nothing aside from a brief spell of effort when Howe first took over and went scrambling back to the self-interested whinger he is as soon as it didn’t go his way. The way he messed Bournemouth around was a massive red flag and he certainly wouldn’t pass the unofficial no dick heads rule the we have in signing players. Shite

Don’t agree with Ferguson but I get the basis of the point he was making. I wouldn’t go as far as he did. Villa looked decent to me until they capitulated playing the high line in the second half. I wouldn’t be concerned if I was a Villa fan. The score line was fair though. Fergie is delusional, it could have been more.

It seems like a really bad move for Lavia given the options Chelsea have. He would have got more game time at Liverpool surely?

I didn’t want us to sign him when we were linked but Tielemans could never have played for us under Howe. Isn’t physical enough, doesn’t cover enough ground, isn’t dynamic. Got shown up by our midfield yesterday.

Didn’t want to to sign him. I was prepared to give him a chance because of his age. I’m pleased to say I was wrong. His pressing was one of the main reasons we won. If he can continue he’s gonna be a hell of a player. He’s got to be our starting left winger.

Gordon, Wilson, Miggy for me. Wilson has bullied Mings quite regularly when we’ve played them - assuming Mings starts. It’s going to be a really hard game. I don’t think any team outplayed us quite as badly as Villa last season. Diaby looks a problem too.

Maybe I just don’t understand football anymore but Caicedo at half that price would seem like top end value to me. Brighton have played a blinder and Liverpool + Chelsea seem to have inflated his price themselves. I thought Rice was expensive but he actually dominated games from that position at times. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed Caicedo doing the same.
