Nah he's consistently pretty solid and good in the air but he's awful on the ball Bit of a weird way of making that point you've apparently made like Triggs but fair enough. I was saying "Nah" to the confidence player and losing form bit. I rate Lascelles as a defender and thinks he's been decent this season but I think Fernandez has looked a bit better and I think Schar should start as he can play football Well thought he started slow last season but was indeed very good for a lot of it, my point was more he doesn't dip and vary much every game, but rather has bad patches every now and then in the course of seasons, last one was his best for us and as such wasn't much of it out of form.

Man people are always keen to rewrite history, Lascelles has been superb quite frequently, unfortunately he is a confidence player and seems to lose form for fair stretches.

I do sometimes think we can all be like theatre fans angry at an am dram performance not being as good as the RSC. It's not their fault they're shit really...

While he isn't really good enough if we want to push on and boy does he seem to frustratingly waste a lot of chances, he is also our top scorer last season, is often involved in the good things we do when we do them and is owed some respect.

If we had a decent goal scorer we'd be out of reach, simple as that, and only one person to blame for that.

Now, I am in no way advocating for not giving the stadium full and proper maintenance and cleaning and not cutting all the many corners the ashley regime does, but a bit of me does see this new breed of ultra modern sleek super stadiums like spurs are building etc and think they look more like airports than places for footy...THe designs etc can be cool but all the sleep glass interiors etc and all doesn't sit completely right to me

Very frustrating start to the season really but easier games will come. Don't really think much to complain about there, they were light years ahead of us, we took one of our rare chances and they won through a very good goal. Shouldn't have gifted them teh first one. Dubravka is great, proof that sometimes going cheap can work, this money being thrown around for keepers can't last. Having said all that, i still feel like I'm going through the motions of even sit at home support. I said I'd postpone any proper boycott till Rafa is gone but it just feels...I'm not even that bothered by the loss. Probably good thing to gear up for when Rafa is replaced by Fat Sam and I do have to stop even watching games from home or anything. But still. Meh. Fuck Ashley.
