Salary cap would be great for us surely, our salaries are still way behind the likes of city chelsea and even spurs. Having said that I predict it will be placed at such a point that it is basically pointless if it happens for the above reason, or it somehow will be targeted only at us, like salary cap for teams managed by eddie howe in the rules or something

It's wild to me seeing him play for Burnley and Azpilucueta was playing for Chelsea, that Chelsea squad doesn't feel very long ago at all

Very long check for a very obvious penalty

No doubt he will get there, taking time to adapt is normal. Paqueta looked hopeless most of last season for west ham before starting to come good towards end of the season, hopefully Tonali will get there sooner but we know working under Howe is physically demanding we are going to have to get used to players taking time to adapt. Grealish at City too took time, it happens all the time. It's clear he has the talent, hell he was part of the team that put PSG to the sword.

Shame but injury hit tired squad, should be better with more bodies back after break

There was an argument on a podcast about them losing early in the cup, one reasonable one was saying wouldn't a cup run be the most enjoyable thing for teh fans this season and the other was like no understandable staying solidly in premier league is most important thing. Like that's any fun. Feel sorry for some fans putting up with endless just got to soak up the premier league millions attitude. They must look enviously at Brighton doing what they are with no greater budget really.

Any word on a release clause? Having said that not worried, he plays with his heart on his sleeve, an unhappy bruno will be half the player regardless so it's our job to match his ambition on the pitch. Absolutely love him, seems to bring joy on the pitch. As much as it's mentioned his brazilian football style and his rapport with Joelinton but he seems to get on with every player. Did Dan Burn ever think he'd be celebrating goals with a Brazilian international?

Would be very impressive to win 2-2 in a game with no penalty shoot out

I get the annoyance at Micah Richards totally, his analysis is pretty poor but I have moderately enjoyed rest is football mainly for the first hand stories from Linekar, Shearer and Richards, but yes can be a slog. However todays episode with Thierry Henry I really really recommend cos Henry talks really openly about his mental health during playing (he realised he was always looking for approval from his dad he never could get when he really needed it), he comes accross as incredibly self aware of himself in a way few are. Also found his other stuff really good. Don't really hear many interviews with players unguarded etc about it and have to slightly credit Richards for it cos it's clear he did it cos they're friends.

Young colleague at work fell in love with football through watching the lionesses, and is slowly getting more involved in watching the game more widely. the idea that people would prefer analysis from men rather than women would be just the thing to drive her right away. There are good and bad pundits(and god knows there are plenty of them), everything else is just nonsense. Some of the female pundits have been bad, and i do understand ex players getting a bit annoyed at pundits not playing at that level, but there is a range of different punditry and analysis that can be delivered. As mentioned Emma Hayes was an excellent pundit when she's not managing, would like to see more of her.

I don't want to fucking see baconface on this forum again jesus

I'm going to regret this because it will be all we hear about for weeks to come, but var gods, please disallow another onside Liverpool goal this weekend for the lols
-
You don't need to list female comedians to argue women can be funny ffs, it's not about that, people who think that clearly don't think of women as actual people and will this dismiss anything they say as anything.

Also wtf is with this and a few others using "made 100% of successfull tackles" I mean 100% of my successfull tackles are successful, unfortnately i have made 0 of them.

So I, a glutton for punishment, put on the guardian's football weekly podcast on this for my drive home for work with Phillippe Auclaire. Now i have a lot more sympathy for their pov on our 'glorious' ownership than a lot on here (but am not going to have the joy of watching us taken away just yet even if I have issues), but anyway on comes Auclaire and i'm bracing for lots of vitriol at the fans for being at fault for diminishing the apparently otherwise saintly world of football, and then what actually infuriates me, when talking about surprising performances from players of ours who are playing above themselves he mentions he was shocked to see Schar play well implying he has largely seen Schar as a comical bad defender. How many fucking years does this guy have to be an absolute rock before any single fucking pundit recognizes him? If we were a Manchester club or Liverpool he would be being fucking touted for the ballon d'or by now

He's won a champions league as manager, and I know Roberto Di Matteo has too but he is better than that. He maybe had a very beneficial setup at Barca, and wouldn't shock me if he could never quite replicate that he's no mug, but was strange. PSG are a clownshow who churn through good managers
-
yep the 4-2-4 seemed what you'd do against a team you expect to roll over, and I would think that would be a bit presumptuous against most teams that have qualified for the champions league tbh. Would expect that naivite more from a new coach like Howe than someone with his experience...
