Murphy isn't a Milner type he can do right wing pretty well as it turned out and right back adequately but not great. If we signed a new star RW player and kept Miggy (may be cashed in for FFP I guess which would make me sad but may be time) I don't imagine there would be great need to keep Murphy. He would be more likely to be useful RB cover for if Trippier and Tino both were unavailable than to get another sniff at right wing. I imagine he will be sold if right offer comes in and if he ends up playing in defensive midfield I will jump in the Tyne shouting Rishi Sunak is an excellent prime minister

Ummmm, I hate to break it to you all but if you are watching along the match and commenting on here continually that is exactly the same sort of communal watching experience really just this is a little more old fashioned

Blimey don't remember him winning the golden Boot, did that surprisingly under the radar!
-
If he wants to stay should let him, would respect him wanting to go and play. I imagine the club will be looking at a 3rd top class CB to compete with Schar so he may not get minutes but he is a big voice in dressing room and could see him moving into the coaching setup or something.

What is the point of VAR for decisions that are clearly right, just by eye clearly onside ffs why wait for the line

Timothy Chalomet scores for Villa
-
There we go lol
-
Spurs have been better but one can't help but feel one goal is going to be nowhere near enough. It;s absolute classic case of if spurs score next they will probably score more as villa will have to push even higher, if villa score could be anyones game
-
Forgot he was still there

I still think VAR should be like cricket or tennis where each side has limited number of appeals each half and lose an appeal if unsuccessful. (hell maybe just 1 each half). Then the officials spending 4 minutes on a decision doesn't feel so bad as will be rarer. Only issue I can foresee is with benches having video angles that would lead them to be able to appeal with too much information, so would have to be a rule has to be quick after a decision before any replays can be run

nailed on 0-0 this at this rate somehow hahaha

villa missing open goal too

how are spurs not ahead hahahaha

Linekar talks of him really glowingly as a human being on rest is football quite a lot, RIP

Koulibally was hyped for years as a great defender (and I am sure he was) so was quite funny to see him finally arrive in the league and look utterly hopeless. Really probably unfair thats how he will be remembered by a lot of people lol

Weird season, the poor teams seem to be firmly behind their managers for reasonable reasons. Think lot have looked at angry lego wanker doing well with patience and are trying to copy

Yeah punishment would be clear but I think points deductions are more than appropriate punishment. They have gained a sporting advantage over clubs that kept to the rules and need a sporting punishment. The problem with saying if you go this much over the rules you get this many points is that then it becomes something you can price in. Oh we aren't going to compete for the title this year and european football would be a burden let's spend this much and accept the 10 point punishment. That would be absolutely clear nonsense.
-
Half their mitigation is Covid as if they were the only club that went through that. Some is legitimate and maybe that's why it's 10 points not the recommended 12. The thing is if any club ever breaches the losses rules something has gone wrong and there will always be mitigating circumstances. They spent way more than they made, they got punished. What is opaque about that? You start letting clubs off because waaah waaah this went wrong and that (they already made accomodations to all clubs due to Covid) then the rules become meaningless.

Your own football ability - how good are/were you?

Oh I'm not saying peps done it cheap or from nothing lol I'm firmly on the they're there cos of financial dominance side, just they have been more effective with it than man u in particular. Peps very good but the infrastructure and the player budget there is as much the reason and they'd probably still be winning everything with someone else just maybe with fewer weird formations which does add to the entertainment

The only reason counter intuitively city's spend is lower is how long they have been spending big for all reasons listed above, and also of late they have been spending sensibly. Yes big wages but most the players do come good. The price of incompetence in the transfer market is large, an incompetently run club like Man U or Chelsea probably have to spend 3x what City do because they keep getting utterly rinsed for idiots in the transfer market

I don't know why peope seem shocked that a huge revenue is a massive advantage? Next thing you'll be saying having the best team is a good advantage? Getting rid of it would allow everyone to spend disproportionately with the big clubs to their own income. That includes Man City etc. No longer confined by their revenue they aren't suddenly just be spending what they are now, they will use their sovereign wealth fund money. And everyone else will go broke chasing us and them and you still end up with a two horse league. We will catch up. I don't get the impatience considering how much fun it is right now with us playing the best football for a long long time with a lovely relatable squad and manager. Are we all really that annoyed that we aren't title challenging already? We will get there, there is so much room for us to build our commercial revenue considering how shit it was before, and we will also be smarter than them and we will win the league one year, this is just slowing it down. And would I swap watching Dan Burn in the champions league for already having Mbappe and Neymar and some past it mercenary bastards on £100000000000 a minute wages? Fuck that.
