Career totals (from wiki) Ba: 209 apps, 104 goals Cisse: 248 apps, 109 goals Pretty similar tbh.
-
Seemed to play a lot more aggressively against Man City, would like to see more of that - he's a big lad, should be able to get stuck in a lot more.
-
QPR team that beat Fulham: 01 Green 03 Traore 06 Hill 15 Onuoha 17 Nelsen 10 Taarabt 11 Wright-Phillips (Fabio - 85' ) 32 Faurlin 40 M'bia 09 Cisse (Ferdinand - 90' ) 12 Mackie That's a pretty decent lineup to be honest, if Harry's got them playing I don't think this game will be as easy as some seem to be imagining....
-
You say this like they haven't spent over a £1 billion in the last few years. Them beating us today means nothing in the bigger picture as they've cheated while we've tried to do it the right way. Of course, with this being football, cheaters always prosper but we gave them a good game today which few expected. Absolutely. I refuse to give those twats any credit for any of their "achievements" and would hate it if my club became a similar abomination.
-
Very much so - took responsibility and was one of our better players. Keep it up lad, we need it.
-
The dreamboat and HBA make such a difference though. Indeed, I'm just saying it's a bit harsh to be beating on Pards when he can't really do much else with what he has available. Does anyone really think putting Marv or Fergie in that team instead of Jonas suddenly transforms a negative team into a flowing, attacking one?
-
Sad thing is, put HBA into that same formation instead of Jonas and it would be pretty close to our strongest lineup.
-
Subs by the way are: Rob Elliot, James Tavernier, Shane Ferguson, Gael Bigirimana, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi
-
Think I agree on balance - try keep it tight and if we're still in the game after an hour make more attacking moves. Plus, looking at the options, what other choices do we realistically have? Marv for Jonas is probably the only one and I can see why he would favour Jonas' workrate for this one.
-
It's the same lineup that did OK against Stoke - Man City are a slightly different proposition mind... Need Cheik to have one of his better games shackling Yaya.
-
Probably a sensible decision - now lets get the prayer mats out for next week....
-
Hmmm....no going to be too much expansive football today then... Bench?
-
That's an absolutely key point I think - when 2 of your back 4 aren't particularly good on the ball (to be polite...) your options really are seriously limited. Debuchy and Douglas could have totally revolutionised this side....
-
To me this doesn't feel anything like the last relegation season - that year we just lurched from one disaster to the next and looking back I can't believe we even scraped together the points that we did. This time we have more stability, better players and a better manager - couple of astute signings in January, Cabaye back fully fit and we'll be fine I reckon.
-
If he's even a tiny bit off 100% I wouldn't risk him in a game we're likely to get bummed in anyway - much rather have him certain for QPR.
-
Was going to counter that with a smart-arse "how many manager of the year awards has Moyes won" but thought I better check first and found he's actually won it 3 times (03, 05 & 09) That's bloody impressive at a club like Everton! On the plus side, in between winning it in 03 and 05 they had a shit season in 2004 (finished 17th) so maybe that's the season we're having now and Pards is going to bounce back in style next year....
-
Well if we assume Colo and Taylor are both purples maybe we can go for some backup that's just mauve?
-
Back just in time to stop us having to buy another centre-half!
-
I agree, but I just don't see a scenario in which he gets sacked before the end of the season - possibly if he very clearly and publicly loses the dressing room but that doesn't look likely. Ashley isn't going to want to lose face by ditching someone 3 months into an 8 year contract, and has demonstrated plenty times he gives less than one single fuck what the fans think. Just hope he's enough sense to realise he must back him in the transfer window....
-
I'm still broadly supportive of Pardew and really hope he turns it around, but some of the evidence starting to stack up against him really needs addressing asap. - No wins after going behind in over 2 years - No goals from set pieces all season - Worst away run in 27 years I think European qualification for next season is already gone, so he's got the rest of the season to find a way to get this squad playing to their potential while scraping enough points together to keep us (comfortably) away from relegation - the next 6 months are a defining time for his whole managerial career I reckon.
-
Aye, we try and go gung-ho against these buggers they'll pull our pants down good and proper.
-
Think Cisse up front on his own with Ben Arfa just behind him could be the way forward - reminiscent of the Cole/Beardsley partnership.
-
Yeah, thought he was better tonight. Nowhere near the standard of last season but the fact he never hides means he is often left holding the baby when there's no options on. The whole team is suffering from a lack of movement IMO.
-
Aye, couple of costly errors, and cost us the second goal at Stoke, on top of the daft 3 match ban. I love Colo but he's not above criticism, possibly trying too hard to cover for the deficiencies of some of those around him.
-
Aye, those 2 stand out a mile for sheer ability. Honourable mention for Ginola too.
