  1. That was Eddie Howe’s worst performance since he came here. We changed formation 4/5 times during the game. Players playing out of position. 4/5 different RBs. 4 CBs playing across the backline. Poor players playing 90 mins. That was a complete and utter mess and rivals anything under Bruce. That said, it should be a one off and hopefully he gets his act together.
  2. That was one of the most pathetic performances I’ve seen in the black and white. Needs to be dropped for a few games and let Miley or Ramsey play.
  3. People saying Gordon looked good for England. Yeah Dave Nugent would look good against half the minnows England play.
  4. More than happy for Man U to win enough to finish 8th/9th so the manager doesn’t get sacked
  5. Reminds me a bit of Nwankwo Kanu.
  6. Think it’s harsh to criticise Gordon as he is clearly being played out of position. That’s more on Howe rather than Gordon.
  7. Was at Peter Dillon’s in New York watching the game. It was absolutely packed with Newcastle shirts and a good atmosphere with chants throughout. Honestly it put most pubs in Newcastle to shame for atmosphere as it was very positive even when 2-0 down. Fair play to our American fans.
  8. We got taught a real lesson today. Don’t think they got out of second gear and finished us off.
  9. Just not good enough at the top top level. Decent for Brentford away but should not be starting CL games.
  10. The Chilwell and Enciso deals really stink. Chilwell was a player they were trying to get rid of, had loaned out last season and clearly had told could leave this summer. No move materialises, probably because Chilwell/any potential buying club wanted his wages supplemented by Chelsea. Instead of having to pay a player to not play for them, or eat the salary of a player in your “bomb squad”, they have Strasbourg buy him, get him off the books and give themselves more PSR space. Enciso was a player Chelsea clearly wanted but were aware they had a log jam of attacking players, so instead of buying him and loaning him to Strasbourg, creating a negative on their PSR, they have Strasbourg buy him knowing full well they’ll have him from them if he develops. Yet again it’s clubs trying to find a way around PSR, being incentivised to do these sort of deals and create PSR wiggle room for themselves. TL;DR It’s dogey
  11. Why the fuck was Livramento playing LW for the majority of the second half? Even Pardew wouldn’t think that would be a good idea and he loved shoe horning LBs into as many positions as possible
  12. £60m for Larsson is utter woke madness
  13. I thought their left back got bullied most the game yet didn't stop twining. Massive step down from Robertson.
  14. The fans giving Gordon stick are disgrace. Yes he fucked up but he fucked up trying to give 100% for the club and effectively mistimed a tackle. He's only in this position because Isak doesn't give a fuck about this club and he had to play out of position to cover for him.
  15. Passing to a marked defender in your own box on the 47th minute of two added minutes is wild. Just punt it the fuck out and get to half time.
  16. Having a pre-contract which is automatically triggered on buy back, which forces the player to sign isn’t enforceable and is likely void. A footballer’s circumstances can change and a player might not want to go back in 3 years — even if there’s a pre-contract. Employment law in the UK requires that contracts of employment to be based on mutual consent under the Employment Rights Act 1996. Then you have the Human Rights Act and FIFA CAS case law which clearly prohibits forced labour and restrictions on employees freedom. No way Man City go down that rabbit hole even with their army of lawyers. Trafford could have rejected the deal if he wanted to. Fact is he came through their academy so has an affinity with the club, likely got higher wages and got the chance to be the No1 at a PL and CL challenging team.
  17. A clause forcing the buying club to sell only back to the original club, and preventing sales to any other club, would almost certainly be rejected as unlawful under FIFA/FA rules and possibly unenforceable under UK law.
  18. Was talking to a Man U fan and he said Brentford pulled the same stick on the Man U Mbeumo deal, stating they would prefer to sell to Spurs. Simone Stone and a few Man U journos were reporting it at the time, the same as Craig Hope is now. It’s a sales tactic to pump the price, which they have been using all summer. It’s apparently because Frank knows how much they want so they know they will get a good price. It’s not some personal preference but about money as always.
  19. As a lawyer, you can’t force someone to sign an employment contract against their will.
  20. Basically his agent massively fucked up advising him to sign a 6 year contract with little get out, if he seen Newcastle as a stepping stone club. He should be following his agents advice a lot less rather than betting his career on his advice and burning all bridges on the back of it.
