  1. Players loving it in front of the fans at the end.... superb. Still think its a shit 'offside' for Schars goal, I mean technically Burn is offside, but really, he goes for a header thats cleared by a defender, theres still time and touches between that and schars strike. If its offside, then surely a flag goes up as soon as the cleared header reaches one of our players, not after a few more touches and a goal.
  2. Was just gonna say, foul looks even worse on the matchcam
  3. Like I said, I need to see the whole move again, as the VAR just showed a still at the time (with burn in offsied position), and cant remember if the ball was in shot, but wasn't certain if the cross had cleared everyone or been headed.
  4. Exactly. I think it was a cross from Tripps on the right, that cleared everyone in the box when Burn was slightly off... no flag. Ball eventually reaches players on the left hand side, end up with schar, who cuts in, hits it, lovely goal. Still no flag. VAR steps in, says Burn was offside in build up (when Tripps crossed it), but did he really interfere with play and the resulting goal?
  5. I need to see the full clip of Schar's goal agian (those highlights above seems to cut in later), but Burn must have been 'offside' much earlier in the move, and well before it got to schar to hit it. The current offside rule man??!! And then going back this season you see things like the Rashford/Fernandes one against Man City allowed to stand.
  6. Ah bless him. Look at his little arms, man.... stretching as far as he can, and still neewhere near that ball!!!
  7. Aye, more here... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-newcastle-aston-villa-29832743 So Villa in european places now and they start harping on about our ownership.
  8. Aye, got that one on too after BT sport one went off. Main commentator pushing the 'dark arts' shite, co-commentator (not sure who it is) defending us.
  9. if pickford had bigger arms, etc, etc. haha
  10. Is he playing? Been as effective tonight as he was against BDB.
  11. Is it just me, or does Mark Clattenburg sound exactly like Michael the Geordie, off of Alan Partridge?
  12. That's what got him into trouble in the first place!
  13. Aye the match and highlights were good on Sky, but the Radio Newcastle commentary over the top of them just makes it.
  14. Told his mates he was seeing a bird from the coast
  15. Here yer gan, I'm sure mods will remove if needed.
  16. Its a Long one (a longstaff one, haha) but I can post it up if its ok with admins (being from The Athletic)?
  17. Theres a great piece about Longy on The Athletic today, talking about his time under Bruce, his turnaround under Howe, and some funny stuff at the end. Think its already been documented, but his time under Bruce almost broke him... poor lad.
  18. Exactly, thats why I wasn't sure I could remember it happening before. Surely it sets a precedent for any future poor results/performances? Did Bournemouth fans get their ticket cost back when they got humped 9-0 at Anfield? incidentally, when that result happened, the media was full of how good Liverpool were, and none of them called Bournemouth embarrassing or woeful. It was just, Wow, Liverpool pur 9 past them, aren't they great??!!
  19. Haha, seen this loads of times, fans calling out that the players shoudl reimburse them for travelling to a bad result/defeat (in fairness, it used to be mackems). However, this is the first time I can remember a club actually coming out and offering it! The full statement probably had a footnote... * All fans except those who walked out at 21 minutes
  20. Said it myself on the matchday, that Spurs were bad, but the media are definitely dressing it up as Spurs being really bad rather than give us too much credit. 'Woeful' 'Embarrassing' , etc. Yet, much better teams than us have played worse teams than Spurs, and only one other has been 5-0 up within 20 minutes. So Spurs were bad on the day, but they were also taken apart by our intensity, our play and performance. We were just unplayable in that first 20 minutes. But of course, easier for the national media to slate them than praise us too much, I guess.
  21. They'll have been devastated about yesterday. They win, pushing into the play off spots, then we go and hump Spurs and steal all their limelight, again. They'll be throwing cheesy chips and blue pop at their tellys tonight when the Magedia of Tyne Tees News and Look North are on.
