We looked good in Rafa's last half season here. European places good. If ever Ashley had any intentions of backing Rafa and the club then that was the time but of course we all know how that turned out.

Really don't know what to make of Murphy. Not long back I classed him as not even PL standard. And I still can't help but think that at times. Often when the ball gets to him you can just tell he's not on the same level as those around him. But then he keeps putting in the goals and assists and seems to have an almost telepathic connection with Isak. Really pleased it's working for him. As previously stated there's maybe an argument that his form means we can go for a younger RW to develop but my fear is if he doesn't keep this form up his shortcomings will be all too evident again.

People should just be wise to it and not buy him. Let the Chelsea's of the world sit there with their massive squads and wage bills. In 3 years time when he realises he's messed up his career he either signs another contract with them deciding fuck it I'll just take the cash or goes elsewhere on a free.

I know it doesn't score him points with us but in football terms EH has also done this with Bournemouth just to further big up his achievements. I credit Rafa with this for us too, perhaps in a slightly more low key fashion. Sticking with us in the Championship, and then managing to establish us in the Prem again, ultimately leading to the takeover. Bruce so nearly undid the good work. Life is full of ifs and buts but there's a good chance we aren't where we are today without Rafa.
