Sounds like Obertan. Always looked like he was scared to run at defenders despite definitely being fast enough to just simply hit is past them and run onto it.
-
That happens to him about 70% of the times he gets the ball. Which is weird because when he first arrived, arguably his best quality was the ability to keep the ball stuck to his feet riding 2-3 challenges. It's such an easy thing to correct as well, just go back to basics for a week or two and pass the ball off as quickly as you can. Seems simple enough. I feel like his original problem back then was that he's put 100% concentration into keeping the ball and would completely ignore all the options to pass. Now he's spending more time looking for the pass and ends up getting his pocket picked easilly. Just a bit of bloody ballance and he could be so much better.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Can't be any worse than Wonga 0% Interest! -
I completely understand him not being on the bench if Joselu is starting and Gayle is available but personally I'd rather see him start. He and Perez usually play well off each other and considering Perez's form recently, that can only be a good thing. Neither Joselu or Gayle have shown anything to indicate they'd be a better option at the moment so why not give Mitro a go.

The problem with that is, it's going to be one of those things you have to put into practice for a while to see what improvements are needed to then get it to that stage. I've heard a few people saying the refs in Italy are starting to get quicker and quicker already so hopefully they'll have got most of the issues out of the way before we get it.

I'd hapilly take all the stick the media can dish out, just as long as the referees start treating us like a Chelsea or City and we start seeing oposition players punished for once. -
I think most of us have had the idea that we have unrealistic expectations ground into us over the years that even if it got to that stage, we'd still be "Anti-expectation" just on principle.

Dyer: “A new investor will see the club as a business. They’re not bothered about winning something, they just want to keep churning the money. Arsenal have shown that – they’re happy to come top four – job done. “Knowing the Newcastle fans, would they settle for just that? I think Newcastle staying in the Premier League will just make money with the TV deal.” Shreeves: “I’ve spoken to quite a few Newcastle fans. I was on the train with quite a lot after the Brighton game and they said they’re fed up with this reputation that they believe they have a right to win a trophy or belong alongside Manchester United. That’s a myth. They just want to support their team and see them do well. They do not believe they have any divine right.” Dyer: “I disagree. I disagree. Being there I think they expect to be up there. I’m not saying winning the league but I think the fans think they’re a Champions League team. I honestly believe that. “They were spoiled with Kevin Keegan.”

Most of the time he's getting muscled off the ball or not finding a pass it's because there's fuck all on for him. He's obviously trying to play on the turn and release the runners but there's rarely anyone there. Ritchie doesn't get out of defence quick enough to capitalise. Leaves a massive gap that the oposition can ignore and push more men onto the others. Atsu does but doesn't seem to be on the same wavelength as Perez. Couple of times yesterday, Astu started charging down the left when Perez had obviously been forced to show right. Short of a 40yard lobbed backheel, there was no way the ball was going down the left channel.

"Hyem" is one of those words I've heard all my life but never seen it written down. Doesn't matter how many times I see it I still hear it as 'Hi-em" in my head when I read it. I can't even imagine how daft and confusing it looks to someone not from the area. Can't wait to hear some yank comentator trying to pronounce it and explain what it means if they get a bit more popular. Mebbies run some clips of Bobby Thompson at half time and really confuse them. -
Semi-similarly: Our fans commenting on practically every challenge from every other game with the old "If Shelvey/Mitro had done that..."
-
The fact that he even made it into the oppposition box puts him ahead of Dummett for me.
-
Definitely. I remember him constantly riding challenges with the ball stuck to his feet during that first season. He's gone from being able to keep the ball without knowing what to do with it, to knowing what to do but constantly losing it.

Swansea City vs. Newcastle United - 10/09/17 @ 4pm (Sky Sports)

Both goals from dodgy set pieces. -
£18mil net spend is a joke when Championship teams are lobbing that around on single players.
-
He's already shown he's perfectly capable of controling and releasing the ball quickly. Whether or not the rest of our team can give him an option is the issue.
-
I'll be amazed if he doesn't end up as the legues top scorer this year. It would be just our luck.
-
I should probably add a "/s" on the end next time.
-
Getting injured, being paid wages and not being picked ahead of Diame/Perez are all 100% all his fault. Not sure what people actually expect.
-
We managed alright last season having Dummett never get over the half way line.
