  1. Willo played 4 games (with one red) and then got let go by Wolves a year or so after the prem with us. We have a habit of dragging absolute crap along for the ride who get found out as soon as they're let go. Plenty of candidates for the next one of them in our current squad too.
  2. More likely told him that he wouldn't be able to step straight back into the team after he recovered so a loan was a better option than sitting on the bench for the whole season waiting for Sels to fuck up or get injured. In hindsight it might have been better to wait it out.
  3. Got to be something going on behind the scenes. No way he just forgot how to catch a ball in the the time he was out injured. Has to be a personal problem of some sort. It would explain why he was quick to take two loans in a row back in Holland and why he doesn't seem to be even considered now he's back in the North East.
  4. Can't fault the lad for going for a 2 year contract at 34. All the best.
  5. Doesn't need balls. In his mind he did nothing wrong and will be welcomed back by the adoring northerners like that dream he had once.
  6. See also: Dummett, Paul (CB) Kevin "Played there once when there was nobody else availalble so now he's a LB forever" Mbabu
  7. So they loaned in a winger that converted to a CDM and now they're complaining he wasn't a playmaker too?
  8. I think a Plan B is definitely required if Shelvey can't cope with the less time on the ball or his passes can't beat decent defenders.
  9. Well he's a totally different type of player. Good touch and intelligent, can pick a little short pass. The amount of passing and moving in those couple of games he started probably dwarfed the entire previous season's total. We were a lot less predictable with the ball.
  10. Used to love those games where he'd get overly excited about starting and spend the first 20mins belting 100mph passes at players 3 yards away.
  11. He's going to sign for a bottom half prem team who'll sack the manager at Xmas and bring in Pardew. It's written in the stars.
  12. Remember the Rivaldo rumors? Sir Bobby confirmed we were after him in the ITV studio covering a World Cup match. He probably meant Carl Court
  13. Might as well be dead the way some people round here are talking about him. Completely inconceivable that he could manage a training session without breaking every bone in his body.
  14. We've been saying that for the best part of 5 years now.
  15. Can't wait for 3k of ours to completely drown out 87k Spurs fans when we play them.
  16. Cabaye was exactly the same to be honest. As soon as his head went down you could see him either complaining at everyone or kicking people up in the air out of spite. Shelvey still makes vital defensive contirbutions when the going is good though. More than a few times last year he was steaming back ahead of everyone to shut down counter-attacks. He does a more than some give him credit for.
  17. Imagine if Pardew's tenure here had this many persistent rumors of him quitting.
  18. I think your comment is aimed at Burnley rather than Bournemouth. Aimed at the whole league really. When teams like that are fine with dropping £20mil on a single player it's obvious we need to step up and get with the times instead of hoping to find more bargains. Feels like when the Scrappage Scheme was a thing and all the old bangers all disappeared. We're still sat looking through the clasifieds hoping to find a Ford Escord with a rust problem and 200k miles on the clock for £100.
  19. Wow that's impressive. £20mil spunked on one transfer but they DEFINITELY can't compete with all that money Ashley pumps into NUFC.
  20. It's not what he's worth it's what he's worth to that team. He pretty much kept them in the Prem himself last year. That alone makes him worth far more than £12mil to Swansea.
