Newcastle United vs Derby County - 4/2/17 @ 15:00 - No UK TV

Don't think you quite understand how important your role is on Saturday. If he leaves within the next three years, it'll be because you didn't convince him to stay. -
Karl Darlow (now playing for Leeds United)
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Nobody's topic in Football
Think Clark tried to head it, heard the call and tried to back out of it but ended up getting caught in two minds and naffing it up. A mistake that we can probably forgive him as he's been outstanding all season. -

He's an okay keeper that is prone to a mistake at any point. Sels has his critics (rightly so) but Darlow has made a lot of mistakes ever since he put an NUFC shirt on. We have three keepers who are all prone to mistakes. Feel more confident with him in than Sels, but would rather have Krul in the nets. -
Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

To add some perspective into this discussion - we are currently 1/16 to be promoted. Anyone who truly believes we wont go up automatically, feel free to hoy the money on that not happening as the odds will be generous. -
Completely agree - it's not the first time either, been saying it for months. We score a goal and go in front and it's almost like Rafa asks them to stop playing and revert to aimless passes around the back four and long humps up. Hang on, we played our best stuff after we scored our 2nd ? Referring to the first goal and the first half. We often come out fighting in the 2nd half (as we did today), but suffer from an incredibly shite first half.

Hopefully Bent fancies hoying a few in his own net as he did against Leicester. -

Sounds like the buck stops with Charnley. Would be reassuring if he was sacked mind.

Don't talk sense, people need to panic!!! -
Genuinely wonder if I've logged onto MumsNet rather than a Newcastle United forum sometimes with all of the flapping and bedwetting. Huddersfield beat Brighton tomorrow and suddenly the world is rosy again.

Newcastle United 2-2 Queens Park Rangers - 01/02/17 - 19:45

Was it a stamp on Sammy, by the way? I missed it but Yedlin seemed sure it was. -

I'd say if anything we improved when Murphy went off. Improved in terms of creating, but lacking someone to finish. Gouffran and Perez ffs. Regardless of his critics, he'd have scored one of the chances we had tonight (Murphy would've too). -

Great decision to take off our only striker and replace him with Sammy. Whilst Sammy was okay when he came on, leaving Perez and Gouffran as our attacking outlet backfired. Great day to throw Mitrovic over the coals. Should have had it wrapped up, but here we are with a 2-2 draw. -
Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Anyone considered that Allardyce didn't want to lose Townsend? Maybe Palace had a replacement lined up, which is why the deal was looking likely. They missed out on their replacement so became unwilling to sell. Considering everyone else is speculating when in reality nobody knows what happened, thought I'd join in. -

Shame he has the body of a chocolate santa though. -
Maybe already mentioned but what a little cunt Jenkinson is. Turned down a move to Palace because they 'only' offered him £35k a week and he was aware Schlupp is getting £56k. Decided to throw a strop and refuse the chance of playing regular football and would rather rot in Arsenal's youth system.

Rafa looked in good spirits during his press conference for a man who is fewwwwwming at Ashley.

Would love Sutton's keeper to be unavailable for the Arsenal game so they hoy him in the nets like

David Moyes says a first-team player could depart tomorrow. Didn't say who, but did rule out Defoe or Kone.
-
If we wanted to sign 3 bog-standard Championship midfielders, then we could have. We didn't and so we haven't.
-
Aye, my mistake - read it the wrong way round (article was talking about Gilks at Rangers and not Alnwick at Port Vale).
-
Villa are 13th? And they've still managed to attract more central midfielders in that we have. Villa have done well in recruiting Championship players, something we and Rafa are not interested in doing.
-
Judging by the fact he was Port Vale's second choice keeper, I'd say he's not improved
