More than anything we need square pegs in square holes. I can't pretend to have seen much of him on the left, but even if he's not the best square peg we could get, if he's comfortable there can beat a man and supply even 7/10 in quality crosses he will improve us.

Agree. Although we've got to remember the players do train every day. Fans might scream give him a chance, but if he's absolute s**** in training he's never going to get in. Manager's credibility with the players would go down the pan if the lad that tarts around all week gets a game regardless I bet Shola was amazing in training.. Ben Arfa was probably s**** though. Yeah but it's one thing being crap in training if you can point to all the goals and assists you've provided, it's another if you're new and struggling for game time. Anyway again we've no earthly idea how he is in training, good or bad, would never happen obviously but I wish they televised training matches so we could actually see for ourselves what the manager sees.

Ugh....Townsend.. Never worth £12 - not even close. Got McLaren signing written all over it. Good, whether I think there's potentially better out there for that money or not it's about time we signed players the manager actively wants, rather than just accepts.

Not sure why people keep mentioning moving Sissoko inside, him and Janmaat have a decent understanding now and have been the source of most of our chances this season. We're already going to have a lot of change to get used to as a team with the new players anyway, personally I don't think the whole system needs to change we just need better quality in certain positions. Sort out the midfield with Shelvey and Saivet (not that I've ever seen him play), keep Wij behind Mitro, keep the right side how it is and hopefully either a new left back and/or Townsend will be able to rejuvinate the left and see how we go for a few games. Still think Perez can be good out left but it wouldn't hurt him to rest a few games at the moment anyway.

If you're a proven star then yeah, you can get more leeway in training, but if you're fighting for a place in the side and you aren't busting a gut in training then you can't really expect to be thrown into a game, especially when every game is very important for us now, just to see what happens. That being said, we haven't got the slightest clue what he's like in training anyway could be Messi could be Obertan. Just think unless it's an obvious case (Gouff over HBA) you've got to give the manager the benefit of the doubt sometimes with player selection.

Sure for now they're looking better, but form for every team will go up and down over the next 17 games HTT. Bournemouth are 3 points off relegation, Norwich 5. Every single year there's a team which particularly struggles and teams which particularly improve in the second half of the season, it's very hard to predict and it's far from a 3 horse race for 2 spots yet imo.
-
Think it'll be Bournemouth, Swansea and Villa to drop. Norwich will cut it very close too. Still a long way to go.

They said in the summer iirc it would be £50m over each of the next 3 windows which seems unlikely, but £18m on Berahino and £14m on Townsend or someone similar and we'd be approaching that.
-
Think even that total is optimistic imo. Those are not easy at all, if we get two points I would be amazed. Amazed?!? 2 draws from 5 games and you'd be amazed? Honestly.

Top page so far imo

Ball greedy. And pie gree...

No end product. As per.

Had £50 on West Germany ffs
-
You need both obviously. Mark Hughes is not an awful manager but you'd think so if you just went off QPR.
-
Of the people who didn't want us to go down at the start of the season but do now, what's changed?
-
We'll get 3 points here.
-
Made a good chance for Mitro
-
What other teams do right now doesn't matter really, we need between 35-40 points, that isn't going to change too much. Might even help being low atm to force their hand with some signings.

Pasta? Do they have that yet?

If every obvious post was met by waves of responses, the servers would be crumbling under the weight of posts tbf.

Could've at least forked out for the second antler mind

Kinda like him in a way, provided more entertainment off the field than the likes of Pellegrini do anyway.
