  1. He's not a particularly good passer, tackler, good first touch or good at positioning and the way he dribbles means he will lose the ball every now and again, which would be much more dangerous in the centre of the pitch. Yes, if he played there he would be able to drive forward on the counter sometimes so I do see where people are coming from, but the negatives of playing him cm outweigh the positives imo. He can still use his strengths on the outside and his weaknesses will be less exposed.
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8542041.stm heard about this on the guardian podcast, his comments about Allardyce's style.
  3. Completely agree Parky. Voice of reason as usual.
  4. Mitro will probably be a good PL cf when he's 25. The fact is he's 21 and we need goals. I won't criticise a 21 year old for not quite being good enough yet, I'll criticise the people who thought he would be.

    Football pet hates

People moaning all season about the media not giving Leicester the respect they deserve, then the very same people moaning that we lost tonight, away to the league leaders 1-0. Actually had to remind myself at times that yes, Leicester are currently the best team in the country the way a minority were whinging on. Maybe it was just some of the people around me but I don't think it would've been the same whinging had we lost 1-0 away to an inferior Manchester City.
  6. He could play Obertan Gouffran upfront in a two and I'd give him the benefit of the doubt quite frankly.
  7. Well at least this thread has let me know a couple of posters who are not worth my time responding to.
  8. Think he'll prove to be Rafa's new 2007-8 Torres, the hair is a giveaway.
  9. Yeah you can't vilify players for not making it in on a scheduled off day at short notice, they could be anywhere with their families.
  10. Is 22 year old Lukaku ever likely to be to good enough play for a champions league club like Chelsea Mole?!?
  11. I think that's just him being shit at positioning though rather than doing it for nefarious means. It might fool a few fans if that was his aim but even league two managers would see through it if it was intentional and they kept asking him to stop it.
  12. Key thing is not to ruin the good feeling and momentum by getting hammered, apart from that I'm not too bothered, we've much bigger games coming up. Would absolutely savage your hand off for a dull but solid 0-0 right now.

    Steve McClaren

Wish him all the best, wasn't good enough but that's the fault of those who hired him. Didn't even bitch about this week in the statement. Glad he's gone but good luck.
  14. A defence is obviously less about the individuals and more about how the four complement each other and how the manager organises them. I think rafa will do that quite quickly and then it's just a matter of finding goals from somewhere and grinding out a few scrappy wins. When are towns end and Cisse back?
  15. Gonna get his face tattooed onto my face
  16. It should have been done a long long time ago, but give Benitez control of transfers and substantial investment and my hatred for Penfold will be downgraded to a mere dislike. Delighted with this.
  17. Really like shelvey, I know some people make fun of his pointing but at least he's trying to encourage the others to actually do their jobs a bit.

Well I, for one, didn't suggest that. Despite my point...I do think the club should give him what he's due and sack him pronto. Would rather have temp staff in charge than a dead-manat walking. Yeah it wasn't aimed at you and was a bit of an exaggeration, just to clear that up.

However financially secure you are, let's say his compo is 1 million, that's still an absolutely huge amount to walk away from for no good reason at 50 something with an uncertain future income. It's not like him resigning right now would even particularly help the club.

    Steve McClaren

Agree that feeling too sorry for him is daft, but suggesting he should resign now and is a cunt for not doing so is far sillier imo.
  21. I don't really feel too broken hearted for him like, it can't be nice for him atm but he's been around the block enough to know this is the game sometimes. And he's got a significant compo coming. 'Fuck him' does seem a bit strong though
