Or the 14-15 inferior opponents he'd face every other week in Holland. Either/or. The premier has been poor this season in terms of over all quality. Internationals and European games would be a be a better indicator. Nonsense.

For once there're 3 realistic teams with likeable players and managers that I'd like to see win the league in Leicester, Arsenal and Tottenham, in that order. So I expect an early draw, City win and then them to run away with the title. Put your money on it.

Shelvey moves to look for the ball in a very similar way to Vurn tbh, at the very least they'll always offer each other an option for a pass. You'd be concerned about the defensive side with the two of them in there mind, especially away. The thing is if he's not going to work in a 2 with Shelvey because of the defensive side, when is he going to work? He's fine defensively but not amazing, he's good at quick short passes but doesn't ever really open a team up, and he does actually lose the ball in important areas at times so he's not some incredibly reliable water carrier either. I actually think he's not a bad squad player to step in when there're injuries but I can't see how he'll ever have enough about his game to be a good starter for a team aiming for top 10 (which we should be ), whoever you put him with.

it does have a lot of beautiful places and interesting culture, but as soon as a single man tells me he's going on holiday to Thailand I instantly think the worst and think 5-10% less of him. Dirty ol' radgies.

Then again I suppose if he'd taken my team into the Champions League he could do or say whatever he wants. I need to stop procrastinating and get to work

And he admits the “door is always open” to any club who shows an interest this summer. He commented: “The door is always open for PSG. Moreover, it is open to all clubs. I do not close the door to anyone.” Wish he'd just stay at Nice if they get into the Champions League like, love him and watching him play but I reckon that'd piss me off a little bit as a Nice fan.

Remember there were plenty of fans of other clubs saying we were a great model to follow after the 5th season, getting green eyed over Ba, Cisse, Cabaye and Ben Arfa. But we haven't really changed our transfer policy much until this window, we just got better rolls of the dice that season.

Well yes but there is an element of luck, circumstances and the feel good factor surrounding them. I take a bit of exception to 'they’re a model to be copied and learnt from' in the article and your bolded bit, because essentially they've signed some PL experienced if not stand out players, gambled a bit on cheap talent from abroad (which have obviously turned out to be amazing signing) and have ridden the good feeling of the end of last season into this, with a manager who has been wise enough not to mess with anything that would disrupt that and giving the tactics a couple of tweaks here and there to get even more out of them. The best thing they've done is sign players which immediately fit into the style of play they were already playing, which apart from us isn't that rare I don't think. Maybe fairytale is the wrong word but this is a unique set of circumstances which have come together to produce a very effective team full of confidence and not something any of the other 13 teams outside the traditional top six can just look at and reproduce. Plenty of teams have tried to sign a balance of PL experience, take risks on cheap foreign talent and put in decent managers, and they haven't received the great rolls of the dice that Leicester have with Kante and Mahrez etc.

Totally agree, even having Tiote fit and in this kind of form would have made a difference, as our midfield was pathetic and the root cause of a large amount of early defeats. Common denominator - jack colback And Anita But he played for Ajax and that :/

Slagging * damn sensitive phone.

Honestly hope you do. Your WUM patter is boring as f***. Righto. Having a different opinion to people = wind up. t***. He has been utter s**** for so long, but its ok guys he runs very fast at defenders then can't do f*** all with it. He's way out in front of everyone else in the side for chances created. In those terms, he's one of our most productive offensive players. From Squawka (top 5): 1. Sissoko - 46 2. Wijnaldum - 34 3. Perez - 27 4. Janmaat - 19 5. Mitrovic - 14 I actually think he gets more snagging off because of his build and his style of play. I don't think people would be as critical if he was a small mercurial winger producing the same amount of chances in an eye pleasing way. Because he looks like he should be dominating opponents and defending like a lion people get frustrated, and it's understandable but it's just not his game. He's extremely important to the way we attack and counter, and he should be in the team, on the right, every game. His stuff about wanting to join a cl club is irrelevant if a bit annoying too, they all do, of course they do. He shouldn't be silly enough to keep saying it but it has no bearing on whether he should or should not be selected.

'Twas absolutely glorious being in the away end that night. Had far more fun waving posters and hollering abuse at that bellend than I would have if we'd bored our way to a 1-0 win. The venom was absolutely fantastic. A dad and his lad near us went to stand somewhere else at half time because they couldn't stand the heckling. Clearly supported the daft c***. Aye or he just didn't want his son to listen to some of the what I imagine was horrific language for 90 minutes
-
I've absolutely no problem with anyone that wants us to stay up or go down because there're sound reasons for both, it's the people that change their mind based on results that baffle me a bit.

Not that long ago, we'd have had to pay twice that amount for him. His career has gone in fits and starts, and I think we've scooped him up at a good time. I'd be very disappointed in our squad though if he doesn't get mega-stick for being a fan of Pokemon. What? there's no way he was either worth £24m or that any top flight professional club would have paid £24m for him jesus I hope he does well, of course. But if we play him on the left, does that not negate one of his best strengths? Cutting in and occasionally hitting a shot on target? Every Spurs fan I've spoken to said he can't cross a football to save his life. His right foot is decent anyway iirc.
-
Seems a decent enough guy actually.
-
Janmaat's one of our biggest threats and has a good understanding with Sissoko, even if Taylor was fully fit he should stay where he isI.
-
Lascelles has played there before and his height could be useful, he's obviously not ideal but it's better than changing the whole system or throwing an unready youngster to the dogs instead.
-
Aye, what a cunt for being loyal to the club he supports. He's gone to Sunderland?!? What a cunt for not being loyal to the club he supports.
-
Aarons still out of contract in the summer isn't he?
-
Can we have another debate about Ben Arfa please? Feel free to copy and paste from last month's.
-
I know it seems counter intuitive but it really doesn't matter much if we do drop back into the bottom three right now. Get to 40 points eventually and we'll be safe. All of us down there will pick up good wins and throw away points before this is over.

Man approaching footballer he doesn't know in a nightclub and reporting back probably isn't the most airtight evidence mind think I'll choose to ignore that story. That's no slight on TheGuv mind who I don't even know as a poster, even if one of my best mates were retelling a conversation they had with someone they don't like in a nightclub, I'd be sceptical about the details.
-
We'll cut it fairly close but eventually be fine imo.

Give him an easy week in training, love him and he's very important for the way we play but he has been looking increasingly tired, don't want him to burn out. Or bring him off the bench next week if we get Townsend in.
