Good on the lad. He's rising to a very challenging situation. If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too... Etc etc Make that good on the man.

I thought he played well against Man City, as did most (except Guoffran) in the first half. Mbabu had Sterling in his pocket, and we went to pieces when he went off injured. Aguero, Silva, and De Buyne were exceptional that day, but Gini looked up for it, as if he wanted to prove himself against the best. I expect him to do the same again, and hope he gets the chance. With a few rested players, and a little good luck instead of bad (disallowed goal, key injury) there may just be a good time a coming...

Daft as it may seem, I thought we played really well against them (first half...) at Ethihad. If we'd been given the second goal, I don't imagine we'd have collapsed in the way we did. I'm expecting Pellegrini to rest players with Stoke and then Real Madrid coming so quickly after us. They seem totally reliant on de Bruyne for creativity at the moment. Here's hoping they rock-up without their special K's: Kev and Kun.

In a 'it's the hope that kills you' kinda daze, I'm thinking Pellegrini has 'form' when it comes to resting players and Citeh are a shadow of themselves without De Bruyne and Aguero. Three days to us, then four days to Stoke, then three days to semi with Real Madrid and hopes of the glittering prize. They only need to finish top four, currently four points clear of Man United. 'Kin hell, we might just do them.

Feelings on Sissoko changed today from increasingly desperate encouragement to wanting to disable him. Fundamentally unacceptable performance, made worse by current predicament.

Wasn't 'pulling up any trees' at Forest, by all accounts, and doesn't seem to have developed much with us. It is telling that a Championship level CB (who may yet go on to be much more) is roundly welcomed into our team. ST & FC are past it; whatever 'it' was for at least one of them. It annoys me how many people were banging on preseason and Jan about needing an experienced beast of a CB to sit alongside Mbemba (Van Dijk, Morgan): the club decision makers will have plenty of time to rue their lack of judgement.

Mahogany moron. New levels of ineptitude today.

Centre midfielders who aren't CM, defenders who aren't or can't, playing Away at Steaminghampton = nee chance. Get the angst re passing the 'mind virus' of NUFC on, at least I do re the current regime. I don't get it, re being shit. We have pretty much always been shit, probably 5 of the last 50 years would be the exception. It felt weird to many (mid 90s) when suddenly we weren't. To me, supporting a team means learning to deal with disappointment, having a sense of community and belonging, daring to care, having something to talk to your Dad/Mam/whoever about. Occasionally, very occasionally, this pays off--NUFC as a 'one-armed bandit'. We are not entitled to anything, some are just lucky/unlucky to never catch the virus. I say unlucky, as despite the wanting to put your head through a wall levels of frustration and pain, on balance, it still feels worth it.

What a week! Well in this league, at least, least said soonest mended re t’other one. The average score was 19.5 (4th highest of the season), 11 of the 23 players scored 20 or over. Of the 230 individual score predictions, 135 were 2 points or over: 58.7%, the second highest yet; highest being 59.5% in Week 27. Only a couple of ten pointers: timeEd32 for Leicester 1 Southampton 0, and Disco for the 0-0 at The Palladium of s****. Well played chaps. Top scoring game of the week was Villa 0 Chelsea 4, with 17 players scoring 3 points and 3 scoring 6 points. All bar one went for an away win to nil (you know who you are ;-). Well done Leonard/NUFC54 for being the only one to get the score right. And to sbnufc (you still know who you are…) for retaining your 1-1 preference for the Liverpool Spurs game, and being the only one to get 5 points. Most unpredictable result of the week was the West Ham 2 Palace 2, not only did nobody score 5 points, nobody scored 3, and there were 12 zero point returns. Unusual. There were five lots of 2 points picked-up, all for 2-0 nominated scorelines. Seems we can’t trust those crafty… narcissistic self-aggrandizing b******s…sorry I just meant to type chappies, but an unpleasant intrusive image of a smug-looking dude, who used to grace us with his presence, momentarily threw me. Great total scores from Disco and Jill (27), enough to be top scorers in two thirds of the weeks. But timeEd32, ably assisted by (we need one of them) Wes Morgan, played a blinder: 32 points. Cracking. My ‘form guide’ shows that Jill is top scorer over the last five weeks with 109 points, pegging back BeloEmre by 22 points and Magpie by 29 points (they’ve picked-up 87 ad 82 points respectively). Next highest scorer is jdckelly, with 99 points. Lawro would have picked-up his second highest points total, scoring 27 points (he would now be on 568 points, in 4th. His guests from the band James, All Good Boys, wanted to Say Something with their score of 16; which is just about Getting Away With It this week; How Was It For You? Curse Curse, makes me feel like Someone’s Got It In For Me, like they’re Out To Get You, when I try these puns. All I’m Saying, is do these words Ring Any Bells? Sometimes, when I’m Waltzing Along, Just like Fred Astaire, I Sit Down and hope to get Laid; it’s Born Of Frustration. Someone should call Five-O, because I’m about to Lose Control! What’s The World coming to…Right I’m stopping my England squad Italia ’90 homage. Yep, I love James -

Low quality meat products? Enjoy your (beef) shin Coloccini. The rest enjoy your Coloccini 'shin', optional garnish of rabbit food. No Ronaldo chop for the likes of us.

I know we have bigger faults to focus on, but hate it when you're desperately hungry (us or other teams) for points and you don't seem to get any luck with the decisions or chances. Clear handball before their equaliser, for instance. Couple of looping headers a few inches high. Give us some crumbs! By the way, just watched MOTD, and did anybody else notice how much bigger the Norwich team looked? -
An estimated 12 from 45 points, look realistic at the time IMO, even pre-Rafa. Frustrating looking at those fixtures which seemed winnable. Three away games, two good sides and Villa. Four home games, two good sides. 8 points max is my guesstimate. Without doing a Leicester (2014/15 variety) there is no way back.

It is worth a watch as it serves as everything you need to know about NUFC, and on the 20th anniversary of the (important) Liverpool 4-3. If I known that before I might have reversed my bet (had 2-3 at 40-1). -

Second game in a row. Poor first half, scrape through and then concede just before half time.
