That gets my vote. Everyday of the week...well, actually only on the days we are playing, playing away that is.

Young person from Britain heads to Portugal in May... can only be for new job... what other possible explanation could there be!

I can't 'not see' huge white crucifix. Looks like it could belong to some sort of Sally-Bash/fundamentalist Christian football team. Well... barring the WONGA shit smear across it, which means regardless of how well they design the rest I'll never buy another.

I think Kaizero is about to publish a league based on our group guess. It'll make interesting reading; suspect it will take you about 30 hours to do a league for each player, mind! -

Any excuse to spend a bit of time in a decent environment. Quayside is looking fabulous these days, and the walk up to the City Centre (Akenside Hill or Sandhill, to The Side, Dean Street, Grey St) is truly splendid. The most comparable/best looking street in our Premier neighbours I could find was Fawcett Street. Take a look, to me seems more Premier Inn than Malmaison. Some might prefer it though... "Such and so various are the tastes of men." Or perhaps: "The man forget not, though in rags he lies, and know the mortal through a crown's disguise." (Mark Akenside, 1720-71).

funny as.... Nice one Haydn.

Would love him here. Why would he leave the smogs now though? Allergic to cheesy chips? Family becoming asthmatic? Or, more simply, because he can?

Get well soon David; leave the freaking cheese alone!

You get what you're given height wise Figures, you handsome hunk of perfectness, rather like ethnicity or hair colour.

Lee Ryder's best mate's cousin's girlfriend told the women at the dry cleaner's daughter that we're after Daniel Ayala from the Smoggies. Just a few 'wrinkles' to be ironed-out, apparently. ITK

I bet he's awesome at Laserquest: keeps out of the way, hardly gets shot at, then pops up and blasts the hell out of everybody before disappearing again.

Nice to read a rash of reasonableness breaking out. Good on ye, chaps. I kind of like RTG, and enjoy reading Stray Makem (deliberate removal of 'c') but seem to be in the minority, at least re RTG. I tried to join for a little friendly baiting, but wasn't going to give my work email address, wouldn't accept a generic hotmail jobby. Hope our red n white cousins keep popping in. We have far more similarities than differences: go 30 miles down the road and no one can tell the accents apart, our industrial history, humour, resilience in the face of adversity, and people are people are people; there's always more differences within 'groups' than between them. Do you like all Geordies/Toon fans?? Don't get me wrong, I still turn into a raging Neanderthal on derby days, but happy to shake hands at the end.

All scoring to be confirmed by Magpie. Week 38: A third consecutive equal highest scoring week (an average of 2.3 points per game) rounded off the season with a flourish. Like a virtual Rafa-lution, we might just be getting the hang of this game and just in the nick of… oh…ok, maybe both were a tad too late. Most appropriately, this week, a Chris Smalling own goal in the 94th minute meant that Magpie swooped to take the highest score of the week at the last calling. Our champion continuing his form right to the end. There were a remarkable 30 correct score predictions, three of which were doubled-up. sbnufc for Watford 2 Sunderland 2; GavMcEl for Liverpool 1 Leicester 1; Barnes23 for Arsenal 4 Aston Villa 0. Well played, a lovely way to round off the season. There’ve been some great performances recently, with Disco picking-up 138 points in the last five weeks, Barnes23 137, GavMcEl and Magpie 127 each. BeloEmre picked-up 92 points over the last five weeks, which saw his lead whittled down. However, BeloEmre had an outstanding season with a score of 20 or more on 18 weeks, and the difference between first and second a tiny 0.34 points per week. Great performance from both. Thank you joeyt, POOT, and Leonard54 for your kind words, glad you got something from my numeric rambling. I’ll post a season review anon, if there's anything stats-wise anyone would like to know, ask and I'll see what I can do. -
Someone like Daniel Ayala, seems likely to me. Good season in the Championship (Boro), tall centre back, mid twenties, at Liverpool and Sevilla previously.

No one will know, but I'm guessing it's nowt to do with personal terms. I think it will be about management/decision making structure, spheres of responsibility, particularly 'having' to sell players who may be willing to stay, 'having' to buy players who may be a 'good investment', how much money is available for signings, because he will now know what we need (quite apart from replacing what we will lose - Janmaat and Shelvey were waving farewell; Cisse, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Coloccini, Tiote, Krul, Anita, Colback, have possibly played their last game).
-
Townsend was a phenomenon against Spurs. Must have felt good for him. What impressed me most though was his reaction to being subbed (Rafa changed his mind and brought Sissoko off). As Andros was walking towards the bench and the crowd were giving him the loudest ovation I've heard in a while, I know I am just interpreting his body language, but he looked not only moved but as if he felt not worthy: like he was really ashamed at relegation/letting these people down. Felt for the lad, clearly not his fault. I can see him making an impact in France, and doubt he'll be willing to turn down inevitable offers for a life in the North East that he's barely established. Stay or go, good luck to you; you've done your job.

That cheeky cheating chappie... getting himself sent off to maintain his ratio!

Don't 'HATE' hate any of them. Cisse makes me most angry: wouldn't go pre-season = greedy twat/forgotten what it is meant to be about; has looked in the main disinterested, unconcerned and piss poor when let loose on the pitch. Hope he rues the day he stayed when in his long retirement. They say don't go back, but also don't overstay your welcome.
