Find it difficult to be invested in any player links at elite clubs such as Barcelona. Surely the wages these players are on makes any move pretty much impossible?

Yeah me too, I can’t stand how their fans seem to have this sanctimonious position on UK fan culture. They’ve had quite a few digs at our lot (Saudi ownership notwithstanding).

They just can’t score, which is strange considering their attacking talent.

That’s just how it goes, we have to be realistic about some of the players we have here. They will attract interest and if the valuations are met, they will go. Nothing necessarily wrong with that. It does underline how vital securing European football is for next season.

Tierney would be a good signing, he adds quality to our starting 11. It’s a move I can see happening. That £30m fee would also look a whole lot better if we could include clauses like playing a certain amount of games.

I like him but spending that outlay in the previous window and negating other areas of the squad is really poor recruitment. It’s the first big mistake of this regime for me.

Committing £45m on Gordon last window was literally insane given other deficiencies in the squad, and I actually hold the opinion Gordon is a great talent.
