If we get more points than them, we absolutely ‘deserve’ to finish above them.
-
This has obviously been fairly well-known for a while, but have we ever seen it clarified as starkly as £45m for Gomez and £75m for Gordon before?
-
Probably the best way to look at it, agreed. Although personally I’m all for giving us the extra £10m and Ross Wilson splurging on some 14yo Brazilian wonder kid, who plays one season for us before we sell him to Madrid for £93m.
-
Three additional points for us might equate to being three or four places higher in the league. Which is probably somewhere between £8m-£11m. Seems an expensive doo just to laugh at Spurs.
-
It would be a pretty hard sell to fans like. Not quite as hard a sell as @LFEE’s belief that we should have replaced Isak and Wilson with DCL and Vardy mind, but still one that would cause ructions.

Win and there will be a good number stay behind, lose and there won’t be. Such is the fickle nature of football fandom.
-
Spurs still don’t have a stadium sponsor and it’s been open seven years.
-
We just beat Brighton 3-1 in our last home match. We’re hardly Wolves or Burnley.
-
Tottenham Hotspur
-
In addition to that team, I’d also start Murphy and Wissa
-
Reckon they’d probably prefer to be at Burnley like.
-
I should also point out that, despite being a relatively vociferous supporter in general of Gordon, I have absolutely no desire to see us peddle Barnes any time soon.
-
3 months younger than Wissa, but £5m more… *I know he’s a better player, so I’m making a facetious point, but it would feel unlikely, given how things have played out this season.
-
As I say, I do probably agree with the basic premise of the argument, that scoring open play goals is worth more than scoring pens. But, and obviously this isn’t aimed at you in particular, there’s clearly a narrative that’s developed this season that ‘Gordon’s scored X, but’. Moreso than I’ve ever known with any other player.
-
You’d rather have a player that scores 20 open play goals, as opposed to 20 pens, so I guess in that sense I sorta do agree with @Casey. But like I say, Gordon’s pens just get almost dismissed as if they don’t count because he isn’t particularly popular with a section of the fanbase. That hasn’t and doesn’t seem to apply with most other players.
-
If Woltemade had been on pens all season, and scored them all, would anyone on here be saying ‘I know he’s got 18 goals this season, but 9 of them were pens, it’s only really 9’. Of course not. Or when dickhead was banging in 20+ for us in the last couple of seasons, I don’t remember anyone subtracting the pens scored from his total (well, not until we sold him anyway…).
-
That’s some mad logic just to downplay Gordon 🤣
-
Nah, 8th. So extremely unlikely now.

His dad, Jamie and Mason (I think) were all in the away end yesterday.

3-0. Osula, Bruno, Joelinton.

What is the “appropriate message”?
-
Aye, he never slags anyone, but I guess it’s not that that kind of pod (which makes a change from a lot of other content that appears to be solely about slagging players/managers/owners…). What I find most interesting is that he’s able to give an insight into why clubs take certain decisions, which from the outside seem wrong/odd, but once he’s explained, you understand a bit, even if you still don’t necessarily agree.
