Regardless of the summer saga, I'm not sure there's a good justification for Isak over Burn. Burn has provided the foundation for everything on the pitch from the moment he signed, right back to his first game where he was imperious in a defence which had been struggling. Even Isak's best and most important moment in black and white, the cup final goal, Burn provided the foundation for with his ridiculous header. And then theres the leadership, versatility and omnipresence, and the most important factor of just being a sound human being which really does matter in this team.

Trippier, Burn, Bruno. When Trippier signed he made me realise what a world class player looks like. Having the chance to watch him every week over his first full season was a privilege. Burn's importance and influence has grown over time, from an apparent stop-gap to as good an embodiment of the fans on the pitch as any club could wish for, and one of the most consistent performers in the team. He's been immense. Not a lot needs to be said about Bruno, it's obvious, he's a club legend, up there with the biggest and best names you could mention from all eras of Newcastle United history.
