Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Diafra Sakho? I would take that all day long, very effective player imo. Would prefer him over Ings fwiw. -
Teenagers shouldn't have kids to be honest, and it should never be used as an excuse. What? Where did I even say that? I found that comment bizarre too but assumed it was a joke I didn't understand...

Not what they need imo. Need a proper striker to get the most out of Klopp's system, they have Salah who plays Mahrez's role but just much better & with a better attitude. Mahrez is meant to be a bit of a knob if internal reports are to be believed. Tbf they're buying a player as a replacement for Coutinho, who while not as good will fill the void left by him, and will still have the better half of £90m still to spend. Aye, true that tbf. I would say mind, Coutinho and Mahrez are quite different players, Mahrez being more similar to Salah but just not as good. Be interested to see how that plays out for them if indeed the deal is going through. Agree with that, love watching Mahrez but you can't really play him and salah in the same team. My Liverpool mate reckons they'll try and get Brandt from leverkusen Brandt is meant to be canny good like, can't say I watch much Bundesliga mind. Seems a very Klopp signing to make, although again he's a winger isn't he? I can't help but think they're missing a proper striker of genuine quality. Lewandowski was so important to Klopp's success those years ago and particularly important in Dortmund's ability to go from front to back quickly. That Real Madrid game was a perfect example of it. They need that versatile, all rounder striker. Firmino is a very good player, but they are playing basically a 'false 9' with him at present; and I think with that system, their ceiling as a team is far more limited than it would be otherwise.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

6 days into what could be a decisive window and the club announces the staggering news that they are open to helping the manager Incredible scenes, what next? "Mike is just still trying to get logged into his online banking to see what kind of coin we're looking at. He can't remember if it was a number 0 or a letter O he used, ever the innovator is Mike". -
You on about Exeter? It's under development I think. Aye, I assumed so but nice to see anyway. Remember going to Bournemouth when they were s*** and they just had a wooden fence behind one of the goals as they'd ran out of money building the ground. ...And I imagine your avatar is the perfect visual description of you taking in the stand-less scenes. Profuse nods of approval.

This video from a few year back still cracks me up like. Jamie Carragher reacting to speculation that Coloccini is about to become manager of Newcastle United.

Willian is so under-appreciated at Chelsea, brilliant player.

Yep and what a signing Ben Yedder has been He's just a quality forward, I've wanted him here for the past 7 years. Especially when we were raiding Toulouse for Sissoko & Capoue was moving on, I was praying for Ben Yedder.

FFS. Funny thing is I reckon they would suit Ayoze to a tee, the handsome Spaniard that he is. -
Coutinho is an extremely talented player, 'though a bit hit & miss given his obvious quality. I think this move will be really good for him and has been seemingly inevitable for some time. I'll be glad to not have to see him playing against us in the future that's for sure. A massive success at Liverpool especially given it was hardly a high profile move when he signed for them.

Yes excellent pass to create the move. The best bit of football all game. Nicely laid off by Gayle I think it was as well, first touch right into Shelvey's path. Love those type of goals. -

Well done Ayoze -
Yeah, it's quite sweet really, these pet names footballers have for one another.

Makes you wonder how the ref hasn't heard it if true? He's in pretty close quarters although in the midst of drama it's easy to have one of your senses fail you, I guess.

Which is what Joe seems to have been doing if his performances lately are anything to go by. -
Reading that makes me so grateful to have a manager of Rafa's class & dignity.

Pickford been listening to too much New Monkey before the game. Heads al owa the place, doesn't know if he's in Anfield or Pallion the poor lad.
-
I could sense he was going to get what could be the winner here, after the chance he missed earlier.

Nice finish that.
