  1. Please don't tweet this. Trump will retweet it with "It's true. Obama failed, big time, but I got it done. Believe me. It was beautiful."

    Miguel Almirón

That kid who bore the full brunt of the celebration is never going to forget this day. What a moment for him.
  3. That's what I thought, but in one of our games (around September I think) Almiron was clean through about 45 yards out and got flagged and the ref blowed. Replay showed him about two feet onside.

    Sunderland

It will take a while for anything concrete to come of it, and Ashley is unlikely to release the cash to make it a success (bizarre given the risk reward potential), but we did hire Sunderland's head coach (Mark Atkinson) for our academy back in the summer.
  5. Is this Jetro Willems by John Anderson, or did the band get back together?

    Women's Football

The general standard is improving every tournament, it's not just the USA plus one other, and I've enjoyed what I've watched so far. Parris' back heel on the line to turn the Scottish lass was pure filth. Looking forward to seeing what my adopted country can do Tuesday.
  7. Look at me, look at me. I’m going to Beverly Hills. Pathetic. Does it even out if I admit I'm holidaying in Birtley for a fortnight in three weeks time? Lake District's too fancy for me.

    Football pet hates

I hate myself for thinking "You aren't ITK", when people on forums say "I've heard that..." like they are in the ITK when what they really meant was "I heard on the radio", "I saw on SSN", "I read five pages back" or "I saw on the BBC Gossip column".
  9. That was super filthy aye. The commentary for this was pure disrespectful. Just some comment about "oh, he somehow got through" when it deserved lavished praise for a moment of sheer brilliance. Just shows how important media perception is for the narrative. Complete opposite from the NBC commentary here in the USA. Arlow White, Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux are pretty listenable and talked about the second touch in particular a number of times. I used to like Tyler twenty years ago, but he's reverted to The Big Match style of lauding the top four no matter what. Not as bad as Garth Crooks though - three Liverpool defenders in last week's team of the week, at home to relegated lowest scoring team by ten goals Huddersfield. FFS.
