Still incapable of lasting 70 minutes I see.

It's two matches so not going overboard, but considering I had big doubts we'd ever even see the same player again, just knowing that that player still exists is huge.

I didn't pay enough attention with the starting line up and didn't realise that anyone was missing until I saw Tonali on the bench at half time. Full credit to Miley for that imo.

Eh 8 is an excellent score. He was class.

Even without the goals he was in the running for MOTM, so unbelievably calm.

Easily the best performance of the season. We've had matches that have been good through pure graft and backs to the wall stuff, but that was probably the first of the season that was mainly about quality. We've said this so many times, but hopefully that's the turning point now, because that did genuinely feel different to me. Everyone played well, including the subs that got a decent amount of time. We can't throw this away surely. This scoreline is realistically what we could have done in a lot of those 1 nil turned losses, so this really should be the answer.

I disagree tbh, I think people forget how brilliant he was before he had to fill in at left back.

Burn's an England International centre back remember, he's not Jean Alain Boumsong.

Neither did Leeds. Going ahead or pulling level only to still lose has been our M.O this season.

Schär's not getting the nod ahead of Thiaw for the time being and Burn's the left footer. Nothing wrong with choosing that back 4 at all. I'd maybe consider Schär later on if it's obvious we can get in with long diagonals, but otherwise there's no need.

Burnley, Leeds and Bournemouth all 'doing a Newcastle' today. Now it's our time to show them how it's done.

Jota's death will obviously affect them in loads of different ways as well mind. Think it's just as crass to belittle and dismiss it as it is to lean on it in the way some pundits have.

They were one of the worst Premier League winning sides I can ever remember there being tbh and said so throughout last season. Nothing remotely special. Salah last season has also been massively overrated. His stats were incredible and he was like an assassin with the way he had those real clutch moments of effectiveness (including against us) but his overall performances don't come close to the all-time jaw-dropping individual seasons it's compared with, including his own. This season I thought they'd push on and get better but not win the league. Them getting hugely worse and not winning the league is great, I just wish it wasn't vying for the highlight of my season as a Newcastle supporter.
