Having watched the match I'm surprised there hasn't been more made of his performance on here. Fully expected everyone to be in awe of him. I thought he was incredible tbh, dealt with everything and aside from one imperfect clearance and a missed header he did everything flawlessly.

I seem to remember Spurs away in 2007 being the worst I've known us to have. IIRC it was Matty Patterson, Paul Huntington, Peter Ramage, Craig Moore or something like that. It's close though and that back 4 then was because we had loads of injuries so it least it had an excuse.

I count that as maybe 5 games in a row where either he and/or Burn have put in 9 or above performances. Burn was our star man today for me, but Schar was still great, and a goal and an assist in 2 matches is brilliant. He's been fucking class this last 6 weeks.

Runs around like his intention is to kill himself. Absolute mad man in terms of work-rate and always blowing out his arse by the hour mark. Couldn't really ask any more of him.

I'm by no means a "fucking clear it maaaaan!" type, but I do think he was really lucky playing for that free kick after turning towards our goal. I wouldn't have been surprised for a ref like Atkinson to have waved play on there. The attempts at a flick and a turn, along with diving in on the byline and getting done were also lessons for him to learn as well, but I'm sure he knows that. Made up for a lot of that by being calm and playing an out ball a couple of other times where he was less risky with it and a lovely through ball to ASM.

I thought he was too tbh. Trying flicks and spins, getting done on the by line trying to dive in and then getting very lucky playing for the foul at the end having turned back towards our goal. Gave him a 6 for getting on the ball and getting it out to one of our players at the end, along with a nice through ball to ASM.

Burn was MOTM by an absolute mile imo.

I watched the Brighton Burnley match the other week and it was one of the weirdest 3 nils I'd ever seen. Brighton completely dominated the match nearly everywhere. So far this is quite similar tbh, a strange 2-0 lead. Would say we need to control the midfield more and stop allowing them space, but then maybe that's part of the plan.
